"Alright, bye mom, bye dad!" Y/N said, waving to their parents as they loaded the last box into their trunk. They had gotten a scholarship for their local college, which their parents were very proud of them for.
"Bye, sweetie! We'll miss you!" Their mother, M/N(Mother's name), said. She wiped her tears as Y/N's father, f/n(fathers name), comforted his wife.
"I'll miss you too." Y/N replied. They felt themself become emotional, wiping their eyes as to try and stop themself from crying.
"Goodbye, my champion." F/N said. he opened his arms, wanting Y/N to give him one final hug goodbye. Y/N practically ran into his arms, and M/N joined, making a group hug of the small family of three.
"Goodbye, for real this time." Y/N said, chuckling a bit as they wiped the stray tears that fell from their eyes.
"Love you, hun." M/N said, lovingly rubbing Y/N's cheek with her hand, using her thumb to wipe the remnants of their tears.
"Love you too, mom." Y/N replied. The three embraced each other in another hug. After the small hug, Y/N got in their car and began driving away from their childhood home, waving to their parents as they backed out of the driveway.
They passed many evergreens and maidenhair trees, along with many wildflowers that brought some more color into the repeating greens and browns of the trees and ground. Y/N also saw some wildlife, like butterflies and even a small family of deer.
After a twenty minute drive, they arrived at the large college building. A building that they'd be spending some of their life studying.
The building, as stated before, was very large. In fact, it wasn't just one building- nononono, it was many separate large buildings that made up the college campus.
The main building was the largest, it was made of bricks. The bricks were obviously weathered as they were a light-ish brown color instead of the bright red they were when the building was first built. The main building held the lecture halls for the core classes(science, ela, math and geography).
The building to the right of the main was also made from weathered bricks, but it was slightly smaller in size compared to the main building. The building to the right held the student dorms, the place Y/N would be staying.
The building to the left of the main building was smaller then the dorms, and made from the weathered bricks like the other two. That building held the library, the place that many students would be studying at.
Behind the main building was the student center, which was where the school's clubs were. Next to that on the right, was the dining hall. Next to the student center on the left was a big field with a garden and trees scattered around the place, along with picnic tables.
"This place is bigger then expected." Y/N mumbled to themself. They drove to the parking lot next to the student dorms. There were carts, similar to ones at a hotel, to help people get their luggage up to their rooms. Luckily, y/n didn't have that many boxes to carry and only had one trip to do. Using the cart, they went up to their designated room. The college had allowed students to check in online so that they could come whenever, the student cards were already sent to them a week beforehand to get into the many buildings on the campus.
Once Y/N was at their room, they noticed it was unlocked, so they just walked inside. The room was an average size. Both sides were symmetrical as everything practically mimicked the other side.
At the back of the room, there was a window with a mini fridge in front of it, either side of the mini fridge having a desk with a chair. Next to the desks was a small wall that separated the desks and the bed. The head of the beds were placed against the half wall, the one on the left was already made with bedsheets and blankets. The foot of the beds had dressers next to them. Near the dressers they had closets with curtains instead of doors.
"Hello!" A gentle feminine voice said, interrupting Y/N's train of thought as they admired the room. Y/N blinked a few times.
"Uh- hello. I'm your roommate, Y/N." Y/N awkwardly said. The girl wore a black and white striped shirt with black leggings, she also had a pink and blue flower crown on.
"Well, Y/N, I'm Niki. It's so nice to meet you, I'm sure we'll get along great." Niki replied, she extended her hand out to Y/N, who shook her hand.
Y/N fully entered the room and began to place their belongings away. They had placed their clothes in the closet and everything that didn't fit in the dresser. They made their bed and set up their desk. They noticed Niki had a gaming pc, which they thought was pretty cool.
"What kinds of games do you play?" Y/N asked.
"oh I usually play sandbox games like Minecraft, do you play?"
"Not as much as I used to."
"Well I could introduce you to my friends in the gaming club if you'd like?"
"That'd be nice of you, I'm not the best at making friends."
"Well, you're doing a great job being friends with me."
Both Niki and Y/N held smiles on their faces, both were excited for Y/N to meet the gaming club.
