32. La Siguanaba, part three

In a sudden torrent of water, a tall figure flew down from the clouds and landed next to the soot pile near Felipe. This being was a blue heavy built man with a massive blue feather headdress and a white loincloth. His black eyes looked down on the human, while waving a long wooden staff in the air to control the storms above.

The being then turned to La Siguanaba and El Cipito, who looked back in shock as Tlaloc the rain god of the old order had returned after dwelling in the sky realm for hundreds of years. The march of the god was stopped by Felipe, who stood between the vulnerable and the venerable. He then vied with Tlaloc over the freedom of La Siguanaba and her child from the rain god's curse. Annoyed at the muster of a mortal, Tlaloc sent down several bolts of lightning in an effort to smite Felipe, all ending in failure as he was still alive.

Felipe asserted how Tlaloc had no power in the mortal world, an accusation that the god shiver. Felipe continued that as a god of the old order, Tlaloc had been replaced by other great forces, and how the civilizations that had once worshiped him had faded into myth. This caused Tlaloc great discomfort and a feeling of deep resentment in his soul. Residence in the sky realm was the only way Tlaloc had avoided the fate of his followers. In order to be around for the new order to end, Tlaloc gave in to Felipe's pleas. He declared the curse bestowed onto La Siguanaba as null and void before leaping as high as he possibly could back to the sky realm. La Siguanaba thanked Felipe for his help in reuniting her with El Cipito as they walked off into the night, together again.
