In a few seconds, the bubble dissipated and everyone inside of it fell to the ground. With another twitch of his arm, all but Zeref, Leah, and Wenner, and the others were teleported into the building. Zeref looked into it, and it seemed it was fixed while the conflict occurred.
The headmaster shouted, "Zeref, WENNER, LEAH, GET OVER HERE IMMEDIATELY."
"Damn it!" Leah whispered, "I thought he'd forget we were here!"
The three slinked through the crowd of students to face the headmaster.
"I am sure that we told your grades to retreat to your rooms! Why are you here, in the line of fire?!"
"W-we uh..." Wenner seemed blank as he tried to explain, and to his relief, Leah said, "We were scoping out the challenges that we might have to face in the future!"
With only an incredulous look on his face, the headmaster seemed to scrutinize each of their foreheads.
"So, Zeref, you thought that you were skilled enough to take on a level six to level seven threat? What you do not realize is that, even though you may have the most potential, you are not the best by far! You see Zeref, that maze is a paltry accomplishment compared to your exam as a higher upperclassman. Until you reach that level of skill, don't get it in your head that you stand alone at the top, because in this galactic age, there will always be someone better than you at your age. Maybe not on this planet or solar system. But I guarantee you, there will be some younger than you in this galaxy, supercluster, the universe, and beyond, that could utterly defeat you with ease!"
Zeref could only stare wide-eyed at the headmaster for a while. The silence was only broken when Zeref said, "Well all I have to do is outdo them in something else, right?"
The headmaster looked slightly appalled at Zeref's statement. "Well, I do not believe-"
"It would give me an advantage over them at something, right?"
"You see, Zeref, in my scan of your psyche, you seem to have any delusions of grandeur when it comes to your current skill level. Let me guess 'That's what I'll grow into. A powerhouse, the likes of which this world has never seen before?" the grandmaster stated.
"How did you-?"
"You have to accept that you won't always stand at the top, Zeref. Hubris and overconfidence have destroyed many a great man," the headmaster noted.
"Hold on, what about the psyche thing, what have you see-?"
"I have also stumbled upon something in your subconscious regarding your bloodline, but due to your arrogance, I will be keeping this to myself until you have cooled down. Now, I think I have spoken too much. I will teleport you all to your dorms, which have been graciously repaired by our nanomachines. Another incident like this, and it's a suspension, for all of you, not just Zeref."
"But-," Zeref tried to say. Alas, he couldn't utter a word before being teleported back to his room.
