Preparations 2

Red Son looked around the ballroom, or what used to be the ball room now it was plastered with lots of decorations, and was that a huge ice feature of himself and MK dancing?

"But what about the boy?" He heard a voice thunder over all the robots working around him. He stopped giving orders to see his father looking over very tiny envelopes. The Demon bull family was many spanning the globe and beyond. Yet not a single envelope belonged to any of MKs blood relatives. MK stood there and shook his head almost like he was ashamed of the fact.

Red Son walked up to MK and spoke on his behalf since he hadn't said anything.

"MKs family was wiped out by a plague when he was a young boy. Wukong and his brood adopted him." Red Son said. MK looked troubled by this for a moment before he cleared his voice.

"But who's that then?" Red Son, and MK looked at the envelope and then looked at one another.

"I don't know anyone with that name." MK said, looking closer, opening the RSVP. MK opened the card and looked within. Inside was a name of a woman he hadn't heard in many many years.

"Who is it?" Red Son asked. It would seem MK was a bit relieved. There was something more to MKs story then he was actually telling.

"Its my old teacher. She took me away from my family that night. I mean I didn't not have the plague, I had it, but it was such a small dose that it didn't really..."

"You don't have to lie." MK dropped the card and looked up at Princess Iron Fan.

"We're Demons MK...we've all been abused by someone. It's why we end up the way we do. Demons aren't exactly seen as...good." She said looking at Red Son as she said this. "Some of us...just escape it."

MK's mouth went dry as he looked from DBK to his wife and then back to Red Son.

"They weren't kind. They were abusive to the point of control. The village just thought I was a bad kid. I went a few weeks without talking, and my teacher noticed far more than anyone else that I wasn't a bad kid. She told the principle that I had gotten increasingly quiet to the point of going mute and just staring at my hands most of the time. I ran away...there was no plague."

"So that's why you said what you did in the mist." the voice from the door said. Tyla walked in holding up a hanger with his suit under the black wrapping. That way Red Son couldn't see.

"I didn't want people to be burdened by my old childhood worries. I didn't send an envelope home...they did. I...I'm scared now. What if they show up?" MK asked looking down at his knuckles.

"Then I'll beat them into submission for harming my son!" The voice boomed within the room. There was not one growl, but many. MK turned to see Wukong and Macaque standing there. Their eyes glowing with promise.

"You are King after all MK, it's not like they could harm you without someone stopping them first." Red Son chuckled, taking MKs hand. His lips grazed him as they both began to walk toward the two fathers. Tonight was the last dinner they would have, single.

Tomorrow was the wedding and there was so much to think about. MK and Red Son knew they weren't going to be able to sleep.
