"I'm so sorry!" I yelled, eyes widening.
She picked up the glass and set it on the table, and smiled at me. "Oh no no no, that's okay! Really it's fine! I'll just wash it, it's no big deal."
"C'mon you gotta let me make it up to you! Its my first day and I'm a little clumsy. I have to make it up to you."
"How would you do that? Its not like you can just buy me a new shirt."
"Why not?! I get off at 5, just come by I'll take you out, to make it up to you. I'm really sorry..." God, I'm such an idiot! Yeah just go and make a fucking fool of yourself in front of possibly the most beautiful girl you've ever seen!
"Alex...fine I'll see you at 5." She replied.
They didn't even order. They just left. Wow, I ruined that. She probably won't even come back. She probably has a boyfriend. God, I'm such an idiot... Why would she like me anyways? I'm just Alex.
"Alex!! What the hell?!" Oh god, here comes Manager I Hate Everything. Aka Erika. "Did you scare away one of the customers?! Its your first fucking day!!! Are you trying to get yourself fired?!"
"Calm down," Alexander began, putting a hand on her shoulder. "I have it all under control."
I finish my shift and 5 o'clock rolls around. I wait for about 30 minutes before I decide to give up. She stood me up... Its not the first time this has happened so it doesn't hurt me that much. I really did kinda like her, though.
I push the unlock button on my car keys and open the door.
"Hey, Alex right?" It's the girl. Why am I so relieved she came? I barely know this girl, and I think I've already fallen for her.
"You came! Hey, I don't think I ever caught your name." I began, trying to hide the excitement.
"Oh yeah, duh, it's Jade." She stared at the floor for a few seconds, nervously. Then look up. Her beautiful blonde hair in a messy French braid, and her bangs fell in just the right way around her face. Her lips were small, yet adorable, and her eyes were big and blue. She was so beautiful.
After realizing I had been staring at her for longer than I should have, I say "Okay, we should get going."
I lead her over to the passenger side door and open it. She steps out of the cool night air and into the warmth of the car. As, I'm getting into the car I notice she's already eyeing my CDs I have on the dashboard. "You can pick one if you want, I don't care." I say.
"Do you have any Cake? Ooooor System of a Down?" she asks, as if that's even a question.
"Of course I do! Here." I open the glove compartment, revealing more CDs. There's a variety of dubstep, rock, metal, punk rock, and other misc genres. I pull out one of the albums my mother had made for me when I was younger. It consisted of System of a Down, Cake, Green Day, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros etc.
"My boyfriend hates the kind of music I listen to, so I never get to hear it." Jade said quietly, looking down once again. I knew it. She has a boyfriend....
"Well, if I was your boyfriend, I would let you listen to whatever the hell you want. As long as its not Ariana Grande or Beyoncé." I said as she giggled. I really think I'm falling for this girl. She's not even mine...
I pop the CD into the car's CD player and press play. I've listened to this CD so many times I already know the order, so it's no surprise that Home is the first song that comes on. I put the keys into the ignition and drive.
