"When love is true, it's worth more than all the money in the world. When love is true, no amount of space can compare. When love is true, you notice no one else. And when love is true, it is said and felt.
But, when that love is broken. In that moment your breathing is stopped. You understand nothing. You can't retain information correctly. You realize you aren't breathing because there begins a pain in your chest.
All you can think to say is, 'Why?'. You don't understand why any of this is happening. That's what happened when my dad left my mom." I spoke, words never flowed so freely from my lips before now. I feel as if the words poured out of me like a waterfall. Poetically and beautifully.
Alex drove me out to our favorite spot. In the middle of a field, just outside the city. It was an odd place to go, I know. But, it's my favorite place. It reminds me of Arkansas, where I grew up.
We laid in the grassy field, looking up at the beautiful stars. Fortunately, we are far enough away from the city to where we can see the beautiful night sky. The moon was full, and there were planes flying high over head. The air was crisp and cool, but I had Alex's jacket to keep me warm.
"Woah," Alex manages to spit out, while I lay my head on his chest. "baby, I'm sorry. Your dad was a horrible person. He doesn't deserve to have a daughter as amazing you. You are my whole world. My sun, my moon, my stars. You're my everything." He kissed my forehead and continued staring up at the sky.
Alexander and I have been together almost 5 months. In this short amount of time, I know him better than I know my own mother. I knew then, lying I'm that field with him, that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. "I love you, so fucking much."
"Yeah, well you already know my response, " He said, gently tilting up my chin, so his lips could clash with mine. "is that I love you so much more."
"It's getting late, we should probably head back to the apartment." I said groggily. My eyes were growing heavy and I fought to stay awake.
"Yeah, probably," He said wrapping his arms tighter around me, then setting me next to him in the grass so he could stand up. "c'mon baby girl, I'll carry you to the car."
He picked me up off the ground as I nodded my head. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed his cheek softly. Alex walked me over to the passenger side of his car, opened the door, and set me down in the seat. He put the seat down a little so I could sleep.
It wasn't long before he started the car and we were off. He never told me about what happened with Josh. Did he ever do what he set out to? I hope not. Then my thoughts became blobs and everything else around me faded as I fell asleep.
