Character- Emori's younger sister (by a year), Eden.•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
"Meet me in the fighting pit" she had said, the gravity of her words soaking my every pore. Octavia looked at me expectantly, then took off toward the bunker.
Wonkru was already on its way to the valley where Louwada kiron kru had lived prior to the radiation.
Now, Diyoza and her band of criminals occupied the sacred land. The last survivable land on Earth.
I didn't blame Octavia for wanting to get it back, in fact, I agreed with her. Not everything she did was right in my opinion, but to be thrust into an authoritative role without much guidance wasn't always easy. And it hadn't been a smooth journey.
During those six years in the Bunker, I had taken a certain liking to Octavia. Looking back, I don't know what caused the attraction to bloom.
Maybe it was the leather. Who was I kidding? Of course it was the leather.
Octavia had appointed me as her right hand woman during the Dark Year, and ever since, my position did not waver. It was never questioned. Wherever Blodreina was, that's where I, Eden, was.
It was no secret that I missed Emori. She went up to the Ark with Murphy and the rest of them, and naturally, I missed my older sister. But down in the bunker, I wasn't just Emori's little sister. I was Blodreina's second. Her most trusted official. I was noticed. I mattered.
I also don't know what sparked Blodreina's attraction to me. I was ordinary, just a girl from Sangedakru. No particular talents, other than the fact that I was exceptionally gifted with no weapons.
Blodreina realized that when she put me in the fighting pits.
I remembered much of it, although I tried to forget.
The pale arms that wrapped around me and shoved me into the side of the wall. The menacing eyes that locked on mine as a sword crashed to where my head was. A head connecting with mine. A man's blood, smeared all over my overgrown fingernails and across my palms.
A dead body in front of me as Blodreina sneered. A victor, a champion. Me.
The only good aspect that came out of that day, was one: that I wasn't dead, and two: I made Blodreina proud.
I yanked open the heavy door and climbed down the ladder of the bunker. Octavia and I had shared secrets in the late hours as she asked me what I wanted.
I felt my chest grow heavy as I recalled her sitting me down and telling me that whatever happened, she would never abandon me, or throw me in the pits again, or do anything to put me in harms way.
I smiled a little. I liked that night.
We had grown closer, that much was obvious. I could feel Octavia gravitating towards me as the years went on. She would stare at me from time to time in admiration. I would return her gaze, although confusedly.
There was a night when we almost-
I stopped reminiscing when I dropped to the ground and slammed the door shut. The bunker was empty.
The thunderous roar usually heard from Wonkru was nowhere near. Silence plagued the room.
I unlatched the door to the fighting pits and caught my breath. Octavia sat in her chair above the pits, completely unclothed. She traced the designs on the stone chair with a fingertip lazily and halted momentarily when she saw me.
Her eyes, stained with war paint, sized me up. Her chest rose as she breathed deep and she motioned me over.
"Come, Eden," her lofty voice drifted over to me.
I walked, a bit unsuredly, over to my Queen and stopped at the base of her throne. I felt a bead of sweat trickle down my neck as I tried fruitlessly not to stare at her body.
Mistake.
Octavia arched her back and took a deep breath. She exhaled slowly and opened her eyes so she was looking at me.
With a steady voice, she commanded, "take off your clothes."
Octavia and I had shown interest in each other for years now, but with everyone always pestering her and checking for orders, we could never be alone. That was about to change.
I sat my chin and answered clearly, "anything for you, my Queen."
I confidently drew my shirt over my head and watched smugly as Octavia's eyes lingered on my bare chest. She reached a hand out to stroke my middle and her fingers clasped around me.
I moved closer to her as I undid my pants and slipped them over my ankles. Now unclothed as well, I moved to sit on top of Octavia's lap, still seated on her chair.
I ground my hips into her as she gripped my back, her fingernails digging into my spine.
Octavia's mouth connected with my soft skin and she planted kisses along my torso, making my stomach ache for more.
I tangled my hands roughly in her hair, making her groan softly as she kneaded around my skin. She grabbed my bottom with her hands and pushed me into her more.
I let my hands slide down to play with her chest and gasped when her fingers trailed lightly down past my stomach, following a path down.
"Tonight we go to war," Blodreina stated gravely. "But right now, we savor the moment."
Not trusting myself to speak without crying out, I nodded and nipped at her lip, prepared to sacrifice anything for her.
"Omon gon oson," i said feverishly against her mouth. Octavia smiled devilishly against my lips and I knew she knew what I meant.
"All of me for all of us," she repeated, and kissed me again so I forgot the world around me.
