We haven't gotten to see much of Rose and B-Day interacting, much less them as impostors. And that's criminal. Wait a minute...

Song - Set It Off, "Partners in Crime"

Just like Player had never secured a win thanks to cheats, mods, idiot companions, or the laws of the universe bending just to screw him over, Rose and B-Day had yet to get the Impostor role in a round. Mind you, it didn't really bother them -- Rose sometimes got sick at the sight of blood and B-Day wouldn't so much as raise a paw against a fly -- but it was a weird phenomenon nonetheless. However, change seemed to be in the air these days, so perhaps something different would float their way.

The duo spawned in the lobby right on the heels of Player losing another game. Playing as a crewmate, he was just about to finish a reactor task when Bro and Captain swooped in to take him out in a double kill. And now, the white Bean sheepishly explained it was nothing personal while the blue Bean predictably rubbed it in.

"Did you see that double kill Cap and I pulled off?" he said. "It was poggers."

"Yeah, I saw it," Player replied through gritted teeth. "You killed me! Again! I'm so sick of this."

"Why you gotta be such a big baby, broseph? It's just a game. Take the L and go." Bro made the loser L sign at him, but pointed it the wrong way.

"I'm, um, not affiliated with him," Captain said.

"I'll get my win eventually," Player vowed, "just you wait! You're gonna eat those words, Bro."

"Whatever, man." The blue Bean shrugged and turned away.

Rose, in her usual pink, and B-Day, sporting a lovely shade of purple fur thanks to Bro already using blue, approached the scene.

"What's going on?" asked Rose.

"Bro is being a jerk," Player told her.

"Player's being a crybaby," Bro snapped back.

"There's no reason to be a bully," B-Day told him. "It's my birthday today, and I don't want to see people getting bullied on my birthday!"

"Wait, really? How old are you?" Player piped up.

"Oh, that's just him," Rose replied with a chuckle. "Every day is his birthday."

That made Player incredibly confused, but he decided to just roll with it. "I heard Captain turned off confirm ejects. That'll make things more difficult for the crewmates."

"We won't be able to know if we're winning until the very end," Veteran added.

"I don't like that idea," Mother announced, striding up with Timmy tucked under her paw. "It's too scary for the children. They won't understand what's going on."

"Mother, I crave violence," Franklin squeaked.

She was the only one who seemed particularly opposed to the idea, and Captain ignored input from the others anyway, so he switched off the system to announce whether someone was a Crewmate or an Impostor upon ejection. With that, the game was ready to begin. Rose and B-Day held paws and shared a smile in the face of the impending chaos.

IMPOSTOR

B-Day had just enough presence of mind to swallow his surprise in front of the others. Him, an Impostor? This never happened! He could feel the knife and gun tucked away in his pouch, and a special connection with another Bean in the lobby. His partner in crime, his comrade, the other Impostor.

And it was Rose.

Her soft paw found his under the table and she gave it a gentle squeeze. We can do this, she silently told him. We always stick together. Why let this be any different?
