"That cafe is not bad, don't you think? I mean, it's bigger than where we're working at."Seonghwa nodded as he and San made their way to the train station. "Definitely." He said plainly. He's not the one to talk a lot in conversations, it's usually San who led the conversation and igniting one. San never ran out of topics to talk about while Seonghwa was the kind who just agree and disagree. Sometimes adding some of his opinions and points. He would always tell what he thinks. "It's very spacious." He added.
San nodded in agreement. "Yeah, and I like where it's located." Seonghwa nodded silently, remembering there were a restaurant and a clothing store next to the coffee shop they went, and a hotel above those shops. But San's way of thinking is quite the opposite of Seonghwa. "There is a nightclub across the street. Maybe we can go there after closing up." He wiggled his eyebrows at the older with a wide smile and chuckled.
"Seriously..." Seonghwa shook his head, showing his transit pass on his phone at the scanner so he could pass the ticket barrier and San followed behind him. They made their way to their station and stood waiting. "Come on, I've never been there for years now. I miss places like that. Have you been to a club, hyung?" San asked with a grin.
Seonghwa paused to think and right after he shook his head no, a short scene flashed in his mind, blurry and fast, but he could see what it was. It was him and another person, a male, holding hands in a very crowded place with colorful lights flashing. Clearly, that place looked like a nightclub. And, as fast as it came, it vanished completely, leaving Seonghwa blinking his eyes in confusion. He noticed San staring at him now, his grin long gone.
"It happened again?"
"Yeah. I was in the nightclub this time." Seonghwa answered like it was a normal occurrence for him to see flashes of scenes or memories in his mind that didn't even belong to him.
At least, that's what he always thought because he never remembered anything about them. It's been happening for years now, but rarely. It has been bothering him for some time, leaving him questioning just why. Why he's been seeing these small fragments of memories that he didn't remember having. He once told his mother about it, just a part of what he saw after San complimented his earrings. "That's nothing to be afraid of, honey. It will stop eventually." Her mother had said, being so sure he didn't need to go see the doctor.
The train has arrived. Seonghwa and San stepped inside and headed for the empty seats. "With the same guy again?" San asked, curious. He knew about this, what Seonghwa has been having. Well, he didn't in the beginning. It was during their professional training for baristas that Seonghwa just happened to suddenly drop what he was holding and clitch his head, crouching on the ground. San was his partner at the time and they've been friends before that. Seonghwa thought it's best to tell someone about it. Someone he trusts with all his heart. Someone being San. Very kind San.
Seonghwa nodded with a hum. "It's just him I've been seeing, but I still couldn't see his face yet. I swear if this keeps on happening, it will drive me insane," he sighed, having no idea how to solve this weird mystery.
They arrived at the coffee shop they're working at and about to start their evening shift. Both changed into their uniforms and put on their aprons as well as their nametags. Another one of their coworkers joined them, a female a few years older than them. She's the manager and worked as the cashier while Seonghwa and San were in charge of making the drinks. "I'm sure gonna miss this place a lot more than most of you guys." She said after serving the last customer at the moment.
"Why, Gowoon-noona?" San asked, drying the cups with a towel. Seonghwa just listened. "I've been here since this cafe started opening. Applied for a part-time job here when I was 16 and been watching this place grow to its success now." She said with a proud smile and San stared at her in surprise. "Really? That's so cool!"
