"God! Marcus no, don't stop. You have to go further, you're not allowed to stop here", you groaned, growing impatient with the boy beside you.
"But want if i want to stop? Nobody can force me to go further." The boy said stubbornly, folding his arms infront of him.
You noticed he let go of the steering wheel and that's when you reached over and pulled the car over to a parking lot.
"Ok Marcus, you'll do exactly what i'm saying or else you'll kill us both with your stupidity" you said sternly.
Marcus eyes widened, looking like a deer in flashing lights. But he nodded.
"With your left foot you're going to gently press down the left pedal and with your right foot the middle pedal. First left than right. Got it?", you felt like you explained a five year old how to flush the toilet.
And again he nodded.
You nodded too, "and i'm going to shift the gear. ok?"
He was intimidated by you and shrank in his seat but let out a quiet "ok".
You shifted the gear to the first one and told him to press down the two pedals again.
You were now standing in the empty parking lot of a one dollar store.
You closed your eyes and leaned back in the seat, like you were done with the world and him.
Marcus on the other side, glanced at you multiple times before you fully turned to you. Playing with his fingers, he wanted to say something but didn't know what.
You sighed, "Marcus, the handbrake." The boy looked around himself, trying to remeber where that thing was.
Wincing he gave up, "y/nnnnnn" he said pleadingly.
You opened your eyes, "on the left side of the steering wheel, beside the door."
Luckily he found it and pulled it, the red 'p' now shining.
You turned to him, "How about i drive us to a diner, we get food there, drive home and never let you drive again?"
Marcus nodded grinning, "sounds like plan."
He leaned over, cupping your face before kissing it. You kissed him back but rolled your eyes at him and got out of the car, changing seats.
