Reading a lovely book, you sat under a beautiful willow. The charming weather only adding more happiness to the unique lovestory you're holding in your hands.
To occupied in your book you were unaware of the young man gazing at you with interest. You only did when he sat down beside you, but not too near to disturb your personal bubble.
Glancing up from your hardcover book, you gave him a shy smile.
He smiled back, his hand reaching out for you to shake in a friendly manner. Hesitantly you shook his hand.
He introduced himself with an elegant smile, "I'm Marcus." Grinning to yourself you remembered a book you read months ago, the main character's name was almost the same.
"Y/n. The pleasure is on my side." You introduced yourself too.
You put the book down, marking the side with a daisy you found days ago. You brought the small, mesmerizing blossom to your sister and she made a white-gold bookmark with your little flower.
Drawing your eyes from your book to the brown haired boy, you caught him already peering at you, "What lead you there? To me and the willow, i mean."
A small chuckle ecaped his throat, "The willow is quite captivating, but i saw you sitting here, reading every Wednesday afternoon if the weather's sunny enough, of course"
Normally, you'd say the boy's a stalker, well he is in some way, but something about him just makes him seem harmless but yet so interesting. And being curious as you are, you decided to see where this leads.
"Detailed, Marcus. I may be young but i still like old things, they have this personality and character nothing else has. Which leads to the question; do you like books too?" Behind this question laid the faith of your future friendship, whether he knew it or not.
Thinking for a moment, he pulled out a book from his jacket-pocket, wiggling it excitedly infront of you, "I do. Currently 'The Great Gatsby', it's amazing."
Giggling at his excitement you nodded your head, "It really is, great taste"
Putting the book back in his pocket he glanced at your's, laying on the blanket you sat on, "Okay, since you seem to only have a few sides left, maybe we can sit down in the cafe at the corner of the street. Only if you want to. So... what do you say?"
The nervousness in his voice made a small smile appear on your lips, and the fact that he tried to sound confident as well, only made it spread wider.
And the book he pulled out, 'The Great Gatsby', made the answer to his coffee suggestion easier.
The boy, Marcus, took your short moment of silence as a bad thing and began rambling about how this was a bad idea, and he should have waited longer to ask you.
Taking his hands, you stopped him immediately, "Stop, you're just overthinking. You've already impressed me with the book. So, yes let's sit down in that cafe, order cake and coffee and talk about the book you're reading."
Amazed, he looked at you, before he glanced down and got up, sticked out his hand to help you get up.
Taking his hand, you smiled gratefully at him.
Before you had the chance to pick up your bag and blanket, he already had both in his hands, answering your unasked question.
"Well, based on your choice of books, you seem to have an interest in small romantical gestures. Shall we go?", sticking out his arm for you to link in, he beamed down at you.
Nodding your head, deeply impressed you linked your arm in his, ready to go on that coffe and cake book date.
