Conceited

Chapter 2

I awoke the next morning to an empty room which was no surprise Steve was probably up early training and whatnot. I did my usual morning routine and headed off into the lab today. I was greeted by Bruce working on something of his own.

I sat and observed for a little before he asked for my help. I kept to myself majority of the time but if I ever did share anything with anyone it would be  Bruce, Nat or Wanda. I spent a lot of time with Bruce in the lab so conversation was natural and I trusted him enough to let him know some stuff. With Wanda and Nat, they were really the only other girls I interacted with so companionship was just there.

After a long day of messing around at the lab, I went back to my room to get dressed for the night. Most nights I would get dressed up and head to a club or bar not necessarily to drink but I enjoyed the atmosphere and carefree vibes. It was also where I met people who could fulfill my needs without a long term agreement. Majority of the team knew about the sleeping around and what not but no one ever questioned it. Why would they, it wasn't their business anyways. 

I was met with Steve back in the room. I ignored his presence and started getting ready. Doing my makeup and hair was therapeutic for me yet I kept it minimal on most nights just eager to get out. I picked out a cute black dress and went into the shared bathroom to change.

I walked out feeling confident. I knew I was attractive but I would never act self-absorbed contrary to Steve's beliefs "going out to trap another poor guy are we" Steve said. I sat down clipping my heels on "now I'm gonna make sure to bring him back here" I smirked as his smile fell. "You're free to leave and find someplace else to spend the night" I added pleased with myself knowing that this would annoy him.

I walked out the room laughing to myself as I heard Steve yell some not so nice words behind me.
