I fell to my knees as I processed what I had just heard. My mother, the only person I had ever cared about was now dead.

Sobs racked my body as I put my head in my hands still on the floor. I hadn't cried in years in fact I couldn't even remember the last time I cried.

Now the tears were flowing out of me like it was second nature. My thoughts were all jumbled as I continued sobbing on the floor.

The door to my room opened and Steve poked his head in his mouth opened like he was about to say something but he immediately stopped. He saw my crying figure on the floor and immediately ran over despite our fight.

He kneeled down on the floor next to me, eyes widened "what happened" he asked frantically. In the years of knowing me, he had never seen me cry or show sad emotions so this was very new territory.

"M-my mums dead" I managed to choke out. I didn't know why I was telling him or why I even cared to answer him but I was too tired to be questioned again. Telling him was like coming to terms with it. This wasn't a dream.

He gasped audibly as he brought my shaking figure into a hug asking no further questions whatsoever. "I just spoke to her yesterday and now she's dead" I cried letting myself become emotional.

It was like my world was over. My heart was physically hurting and I was gasping for air as the tears continued.
