Unknown's POV
I sprinted down the street, glancing back every few seconds to see if anybody was chasing me. There was nobody there, and I knew there wouldn't be. I was way too fast. When I reached my car, I hopped in and started it up.
After about five minutes of driving- seriously over the speed limit- my phone buzzed in my pocket. I answered it without looking at the number.
"Is it done?"
A smile creeped up onto my face. "Yes, it is." I replied.
"Did you hurt her?"
"I tried not to, but she didn't take my presence lightly." I didn't feel very good about hurting Carter, but in all fairness, it wasn't my fault. She fell, I didn't push her.
"It better be minor damage!" Roared the voice at the other end of the line.
"It is. I don't think it was anything serious."
"Was it quick?"
"Pretty much, but I had to throw her phone across the street in case she called anybody. It doesn't matter though, because some guys showed up anyway." I said, thinking about my carelessness.
"What?! You still got the deed done though I presume!" The voice challenged.
"Oh, of course."
"Very well. I expect to see you soon." And at that, the line disconnected.
I plopped my phone on the passenger seat and continued to drive down the dark road before stopping in front of a family home. I pulled out my knife. I hoped there would be no complications.
Nathan Rogue's POV
I was downstairs. The party was still going, but as soon a reached the bottom of the stairs, everybody stared at me. The same question lingered in each of their eyes. I nodded once, sending them the message that Carter was okay- ish. After a few seconds, more and more people started to turn away, and they continued to dance and drink. I pushed past them, and ran outside to where we had found Carter. It looked as if nothing had happened. Nothing was damaged. I inhaled sharply and knelt down onto the patio. I ran my fingers through my dark hair. What was I gonna do? I'm at my house while my parents are out of town, and there's an unconscious girl up in my bedroom! I sit outside for about ten minutes before walking back upstairs and going in my room to see Carter sitting up against my bed's headboard. She had a dazed look in her eyes, but she looked up at me and smiled faintly.
"This is an awesome party." She murmured. What? She's going on about the party when she was just found passed out in the back garden. I sure hope she doesn't have a concussion.
Owen was looking at her worriedly, and Lydia was playing with her hair, looking like a typical dumb blonde. But I liked blondes. Natural blondes of course. They're so...No! Nathan! Focus on Carter!
Carter swung her legs over the side of my bed, and tried to get up, but her limbs wouldn't oblige. "I think I need to go home..." She mumbled, fiddling with her delicate hands in her lap.
I nodded. "Yeah, maybe somebody could take you home." I suggested, instantly regretting it after hearing how selfish I sounded.
"I drove here. I could." Said Owen, pulling out his car keys from his jean pocket.
Carter smiled. "Thank you. Plus, you know where I live."
Lydia seemed disappointed that Carter had to miss the rest of the party, but she just nodded and smiled all the way through the conversation.
A few minutes later, Carter was outside in Owen's truck. Lydia had decided to stay at the party. She looked terribly guilty, but Carter still smiled at her and told her it was ok, even though she was still kinda out of it.
