Lydia Roberts' POV

My blog:

OMG! Going to the coolest party of the year tonight with my BFF Carter. It's going to be awesome, and we're looking hot! Just finished Carter's make-up. She's looking stunning. Watch out boys! So glad Owen invited us to this party. Thank you Owen! Nathan knows we're coming right? Oh, he'll figure it out! Besides, he won't mind! The more the merrier. Don't know how we're gonna get there. Taxi maybe. We can't walk. It's chucking it down with rain. Darn! And also heels hurt. Anybody else going? Or need some advice on what to wear or how to do their hair? Just ask me! But there's no way you'll look hotter than Carter and I! Peace! xxx

"Relax Carter, you look great!" I said to Carter as I fixed my hair.

Carter was so against the outfit choice I had made for her. A gorgeous pink satin dress with ruffles. It was short, yeah. But that's fashion nowadays. I had also done her make-up. Eyeliner, mascara and some light pink eyeshadow. The perfect touch. She had her hair pulled back into a high ponytail. I told her she should straighten it and leave it down, but she said she had had enough with the makeovers.

"I don't. I want to change. I can dress myself." Carter whined, pulling at the dress.

I shook my head at her as I pulled the last roller out of my silky blonde hair. "Carter! Where are you going?" I asked as she strolled into the bathroom with some clothes. No way was she changing out of that stunning thing!

I knocked on the bathroom door. "Carter! What are you changing into?"

Carter stomped out in a pair of jeans and a pink woollen jumper. I had to admit- it did look cute! But not cute enough for a party! "Ok ok! Fine! Wear what you want! But you'll be the only one dressed in casual."

We got to Nathan's house by taxi. I paid, and we ran inside. People were everywhere. Dressed in beautiful dresses and smart shirts. The music was loud. Pop. My favourite. Nathan's house was huge- perfect for a party. The floorboards were chestnut brown, and the walls were pasted with classy purpley brown wallpaper. Old paintings and statues were dotted around the main room. Wow! This place is brilliant! And gonna get trashed!

"Wow..." Whispered Carter. I turned to her.

"I know right!" I squealed excitedly. Suddenly, a boy walked up to me. He had cropped dark brown hair and was wearing a green and blue checked shirt. He smiled, and we both took to the dance floor.

Carter stared after me, her lips parted slightly as if she was going to say something. Then, she smiled a little and strolled off through the crowd of people. I lost sight of her within seconds. I looked around and saw Owen standing a few feet away from me talking to Nathan and his pals. "I minute." I said to the boy I was dancing with, and ran up to Owen.

He smiled at me. "Hey! You made it! Awesome, hey, where's Carter?"

I shrugged. "I dunno. She walked off. Go find her!" I walked away, and back to dancing.

Carter Rose's POV

It was too noisy, so I decided to take a break and sit outside on Nathan's patio. A storm was brewing. The rain had calmed down, but it was still trickling down my nose. I didn't like parties that much. Especially when they were full of people I didn't know. I was shy. It wasn't my fault. Suddenly, I heard a whisper from my side. Then, again. I peered into the darkness and saw a figure move. I gasped.

"Come here!"

I listened and lurched to my feet, strolling towards the voice. I took out my phone, shining it forward. I saw a boy- about my age- with dark brown, maybe black hair. His eyes were also very dark and his bright tan skin was clear.

"Hi." He said.

I stared at him. "Uhh...hey. Are you here for the party?" I asked, really unsure about this boy.

He shook his head. "No. What? Is there a party here?"

I nodded. "Yeah, and it's not in the mood to be crashed."

"I know." He jeered.

I stared at him. My eyes narrowed. This guy was freaking me out. Walk away Carter! Just walk away!

The guy was smiling at me spookily. His eyes seemed to solidify and get darker and darker by the second. He flashed a toothy grin. Suddenly, he grabbed my phone and chucked it across the street. I heard a crash. Then, the guy hopped over the fence and walked towards me. I backed off, holding my palms up in front of me. They guy was looking at me like a meal. Then, my feet tangled and I fell onto the hard concrete floor, banging my head hard. I groaned and looked up. Black was framing my vision and the guy's face was messed up in a blur. I could hear my heartbeat in my chest. It was as fast as racing car. My head was throbbing. The guy crouched down and pulled out a tube from his pocket. I couldn't really see properly, but I think it was some sort of yellowy colour. He pulled my chin down and poured the liquid into my mouth. It tasted sweet, but then it transformed into bitterness. He wiped my fringe away from my eyes and looked into them. He nodded, then stood up and turned to walk away when a voice came from my side.

"What the hell are you doing!?" He yelled.

Owen!

The guy took one last look at me, and the sprinted, hopped over the fence, and then continued sprinting down the street

Owen was leaning over me. Nathan was here too. His black hair was now wet with the spitting rain. "Carter? Are you ok? Can you hear me?"

I tried to talk back, but my lips wouldn't move. I closed my eyes.

"Get her inside Owen." Said Nathan, his voice layered with concern.

"Everyone will stare!"

"Carter! Who was that guy?" Asked Nathan.

"Carter!" Lydia!

Lydia came sprinting down the patio and knelt down next to me. "Is she passed out? Did she drink too much?"

"Some guy was here. I think he beat her up. Carter, listen to me. I'm gonna take you up to my room ok?" Said Nathan.

I nodded weakly. The last time I had seen Owen was when I had been reminded about the death of my mother...but I couldn't think about that now. Besides, he would have forgotten right?

Somebody picked me up. I don't know who, but they were definitely male because they had lean strong arms. As they walked into the house, everybody turned and stared. They whispered. They pointed. Some of the girls even looked jealous.

I was up in a bedroom before I knew it. My eyelids drooped. I felt extremely sleepy. Nathan crouched down in front of me. He looked into my eyes. "How do you feel?"

"Tired.." I answered, but it just sounded like a muffled sigh.

Owen sighed, sitting down next to me. Lydia did too. She patted my thigh. "Carter? They said a guy. What guy?"

"I don't know... " I murmured. The last thing I saw was Nathan's worried expression...
