Unknown's POV:
I strolled across the road, keeping an eye out for cops or potential dangers. By dangers I meant attackers, I was scared of nothing. Finally, I was there. I stood in front of Carter's house. This was it. The moment. If I got this wrong, I would surely be punished. I still had my knife in my back pocket in case anything bad happened. Hopefully not... I felt very bad about attacking Carter before. Her little friend sure payed the price...
I slid through an open window and was left standing in the living room. No one was there. I turned around and peeked in the kitchen, Carter was standing with her back to me. The smell that was coming from the stove was amazing. Poor Carter, having to make her own food everyday because of her parents' disappearance. How was she coping? Probably not very well.
I just walked in and stood behind Carter, hoping she would turn around soon. She did. Her face was a mask of fear and panic as she threw the wooden spoon she was holding up in the air. Man, her scream was something. I hadn't heard lungs on a girl like that since... well... never.
She tried to run around me, but I grabbed her by the waist and pinned her against the wall. "Shh.. shh... Carter please. Be quiet!" I whispered frantically.
She shivered. "How do you know my name?" She asked as she tried to pry my hands from her arms.
"I'm not going to hurt you. I promise. I'm so sorry about everything that happened. Just let me explain, please!" I begged.
She pushed me hard on the chest. "You're a lunatic!"
I put my hand over her mouth and pushed her harder against the wall, but not so much that I was hurting her.
She whimpered.
"My name is Jesse. I work for the Clambridge gang deep in the woods. Thank goodness we found you. We're in havoc. Clambridge needs you Carter!"
Carter looked at me like I was crazy. "What? Get off me!" She yelled.
"Carter, you're not who you think. Please. I know it sounds crazy, but just listen. Please..." I released my grip on her arms and just stood there, gazing into her beautiful eyes.
After about ten seconds, she bolted. I grabbed her again and carried her over to the couch. "Stop moving. Just sit still and listen."
Carter's eyes drifted to my pocket where a silver sharp blade was sticking out. Her eyes popped wide, and then she sat still and listened.
"I am Jesse. Yes, it's a boy name too. I'm from the Clambridge gang in the woods. We live there. It's a kingdom. No humans have found us yet. We're hidden. You're mother and father were King and Queen. You were taken when you were about one year old. You were taken by humans. We killed them, but they had hidden you. We searched day and night. You were never found. After five years of looking, we gave up. We presumed you were dead. I'm not sure how you ended up with these parents you have now, but that doesn't matter. You are Princess. We need a ruler. Unfortunately, your parents were killed in a gruelling battle about a year ago. One of my workers spotted you in the woods a couple of months ago. We've been on you ever since to make sure it was you. Now, we're sure. I was sent to retrieve you. We couldn't risk anything happening to you. Any human around you is potential danger. That's why I tried to kill your friend, and your parents have been taken away. That potion I gave you when you were at that party was a memory elixir. It was supposed to help and refresh some of your memory from when you were at Clambridge, but it didn't work too well. You were too young to remember anyway, and-"
"You're insane! You actually belong in a mental hospital!" Screamed Carter.
"I'm telling the truth Carter. Look, this all adds up doesn't it? And what would be the point of me lying to you? There isn't one! I'm not lying!"
Carter starts to breath heavily. "Wait! You said no humans have found you yet. So, what are you?"
"We are faeries Carter. Well, half faeries."
"What! Wait, what did you do with my parents? Where are they?" Carter turned bright red.
"They are safe, don't worry. They're in Clambridge."
"So, they're not my real parents?" Weeped Carter.
I put my arm around her shoulder, but she shrugged it off. Ok, she obviously didn't trust me yet, but who could blame her?
"I'm sorry. You're true parents were very good rulers though. We respected them with all our might. They were family. We all loved them. We loved you too. You were a perfect little princess." I said as I pushed my knife down deeper into my pocket so as not to scare Carter.
"A faerie? Like with wings?" Asked Carter.
I chuckled and shook my head. "That's just a silly stereotype made up by humans. We don't grow wings, and we can't fly. That would be fun though."
"What do I do?" Sobbed Carter, rubbing her puffy red eyes and sniffling.
"Come to the kingdom. I'll prove it to you completely. You can see your parents. You can finally see you're real home." I said.
Carter looked into my eyes and nodded. "Alright." She mumbled...
