Tease [James Cook]

          Friday night cook went over to the Stonem's house, Kitty was the only one awake and she stupidly invited him inside. They talked, like proper people again but one thing led to another and they ended up having sex. Everything felt normal for a night but then he left as soon as they where done and kitty felt dumb. So much for normal huh. The next morning when Effy came home she was greeted by the sound of sobbing coming from the bathroom, not wanting to intrude Effy took a seat in front of the door and cried with the girl. They where both fucked up.

When Kitty got out of the bath and changed into comfy pyjamas and fluffy socks the two girls sat on Kitty's bed and talked it out, obviously ending up with them both crying again. They understood each other despite going through two different things. Kitty ended up falling asleep so Effy placed the covers over the girl and gave her a quick kiss on the forehead before heading downstairs she was then awoken by Effy telling her to pack because they where going to a party in the woods. 

So the girl changed into a baggy graphic t-shirt and biker shorts. She only packed pyjamas and underwear since she would wear what she was currently wearing the next day. Then she got into the car to pick everyone up, Effy in the drivers and Kitty in the passengers. Katie tried to get Kitty to give up the passenger seat but the girl refused and made the red head sit in the middle row with Freddie, Emily, Naomi and Pandora. It was a squeeze but she ended up on Freddie's lap. They had the music blaring and everyone was either joking or singing to the lyrics.

Meanwhile James Cook had just got out of the shops and was walking towards the Stonem's house with snacks and cake. When arriving he knocked on the door only for Anthea Stonem to answer it "you alright anth, your niece is in for a right fucking treat. I got the proper fancy stuff" Cook started listing off a bunch of foods that he had brought to the woman.

"oh she's gone"

"okay what time she back?" Cook asked

"oh not until tomorrow. They've gone to some party at Gobblers End" 

"Nah, Nah. Nah cause were supposed to hang out tonight"

"was that before you broke up or after" Anthea asked the boy. Something she was told by Effy from their conversation that morning.

"i bought a fucking gateau. Black forest" 

"oh that's her favourite... and mine. Cheers" Anthea grabbed the cake and shut the door in the boys face.

Katie was giving Effy directions from the back seat whilst kitty looked out of the window, watching small rain drops fall down the glass. The girl had completely blanked out everything going on even though everyone was yelling. She only joined back in once they pulled into a garage. Katie and Freddie got out of the car whilst Effy filled the car up with petrol. Kitty saw Katie heading towards the shop and got out herself to see if she could buy drinks. Nobody was in so she filled her fanny pack with colourful shots and a bunch of chocolate.

Some guy walked in and blocked the exit so the two girls couldn't leave. Kitty grabbed Katie's hand and pulled her closer to keep her safe. Despite not liking Katie that much Kitty still felt the need to protect her. The man started to try and grab the two girls so Kitty straight up kneed him in the balls and dragged Katie out the shop. Katie yelling for Freddie as they did.

"you made me miss" a man with a gun told the girls

"who gives a fuck" Kitty deadpans and tries to push past the man but he held out his arm and stopped her

"listen were sorry but..." Katie squeaks out, the two still holding hands for a slight bit of comfort

"I've never missed before" He spat

"alright that's it, that's enough. Leave them alone" Freddie intervened and wrapped his arm over Katie and dragged her away knowing that she was still holding Kitty's hand and the girl would follow

"go. beware the moon" He laughed as everyone got back into the car. Kitty opened her window and stuck her hand out of it whilst flipping them off. Everyone, simultaneously, commented about the gun but kitty wasn't bothered. That's what happens when you grow up in America and have to do school shooting drills at least once a term. Once they where back on the road Pandora started breathing heavily  and then the men from the gas station followed them.

Kitty groaned and layed her head back in the chair already bored of whatever is about to happen. They drove beside the car and the man held his gun out of his window whilst telling Effy to roll the window down. Everyone was yelling at Effy to stop the car but kitty had another plan. She grabbed the wheel and drove into the side of the car making everyone yell in fear. It made the men go of tack and pull the car over to the side of the road. Effy also stopped and watched as the man with the gun flicked a cigarette bud out f the window before driving away.

"fucking hell kitty what were you thinking" Freddie spoke

"oh live a little freds, i got them away did i not" Kitty sighed 

"i think we should go home" Pandora told everyone

"fucking hell panda they're gone. Were safe. As long as we all 'beware the moon' that is" Kitty joked although no one found it very funny at first. But the longer everyone stayed silent the more people stated laughing. Everyone laughed except Katie.

"why are you all laughing. Its not fucking funny" Katie spat

"alright babes chill out" Freddie turned to face Katie and kissed her making Effy stop laughing. Kitty saw and grabbed her cousins hand lightly and gave her a reassuring smile

"come on. Not far now"
