I saw the light rise up from the tower as I made it to the Creek. I knew it was a signal. They were hunting. Hunting for me. As I ran up the steep path, I saw a tall blonde girl out of the corner of my eye. Damnit! I thought. She found me. As I kept running, I saw more and more trees move closer in my way, narrowing the path. I knew that eventually, it would become too narrow.
All of the sudden the girl stopped. I looked behind me and saw her look of confusion. She put her hand out then flinched back when the air...no. Did the air just...shimmer? I looked around and realized where I was. I had made it past the end of the Creek, and into the Sector. I laughed and started walking away, checking back every hundred feet or so. I pulled out my extremely high-tech cell phone, (it is 3035 after all) and call Arianna.
"Hello?"
"Ari? It's me."
"Oh my God! Ianira! Where are you?"
"I'm right past the Creek. Meet me?"
"Of course. Be right there."
I continued to pace around for about half-an-hour or so until Arianna showed up. She was about the same height as me, a little shorter, probably about 5ft tall. She had tan skin, and gorgeous long, brown hair with blonde ombre, that fell to her waist. Her bangs had streaks of purple in them, that she didn't dye. She was born with it, and chose to keep it.
She had on black shorts with a long purple top, that reached almost the bottom of the shorts. Her old black vans were now a light grey, with specks of brown dirt all over them. Her lightweight black cardigan not only kept her warm, but protected her from most harmful UV Rays coming down on her. She had the power to control the Shadows, and storms, but usually, she chose to control storms. She usually didn't use a weapon, but if she did, it would be a long-sword. It was sheathed at her side, but ready for combat if she needed it.
She looked me over and gave me a hug. I looked down at myself and saw how much dirt was covering my thin body. "Oh Ianira! What the hell happened to you?"
"Long story." I said shortly, beginning to walk back over to the wall that separated the blonde and I. "What should we do with her?"
"I'll take her back to HQ." You have to worry about not getting caught. Don't forget they're watching you too."
"Ugh don't remind me. How could I forget? I hate not being able to work. I mean we are 16 years old! Can I not get a job because of it."
"Ianira, you know that's not it."
"I know, I know."
"Go home. I'll be there in a little bit after testing."
"Kay." I said as I walked away and waved. I snuck through the woods until I got to a path with rock stairs. The descent down the steep path was always easy, the ascent not so much. I finally made it back into the city and found my apartment building. I went inside and up to my apartment, and went straight into my bedroom.
I looked in the mirror at myself and examined my appearance.
I was about 5ft2" tall, Arianna being slightly thinner then me. It was okay though, I was stronger. I had dark brown hair that was almost black that reached just below my shoulders. Today I had the top layer pulled back in a bun, with the rest straight and loose around my shoulders. I was wearing a blue long sleeve dress that reached my mid-thighs and gray boots with 1-3" heels on them.
After getting bored at looking at myself, I carefully put my bow and quiver on my bed. I went into the bathroom to take a shower to wash away all the dirt and grime when I heard a noise. "Arianna...?" I said.
"Nope." Said a deep voice, that sounded like a mans. "Guess who..."-------
Wow cliffhanger right? Who is he? What does he want? Is he bad? Will he kill Ianira?-
Well anyways this is my new story. It's gonna have a lot of mythology in it and yeah. I'm really excited to keep writing this.
