Marinette's POV
This is my first story so don't judge!
Feel free to comment!!The feeling of hands on my side is over quickly as I'm pushed forcefully into a room. I twist as I fall and land on my back, forcing the air from my lungs. Sitting up quickly I observe my surroundings.
The room is almost identical to the classroom I had just fled from. At the front of the room, there is a large desk with knick-knacks, a computer, and spare paper, indicating the teacher's desk. Facing the desk is a row of desks going all the way to the end of the room, leaving an aisle in the middle. Backpacks linger near the chairs, showing that students were once in this room.
Panicking, I remember my situation. There is a akuma roaming outside in Paris, close to the school. Fleeing my classroom had been to transform. Being pushed in here must of been for my safety.
Standing up, I spin around and realize I am not alone. There sitting on the ground, looking up at me, is Adrien Agreste. His deep forest green eyes look into mine and for a moment I forget where we are. He awkwardly grins at me.
"Adrien!" I say, rubbing a hand behind my neck, breaking the moment, "Adrien," I repeat in a less enthusiastic tone, remembering our situation.
"What are you doing here Marinette?" he asks, suddenly sounding worried.
"I was pushed in here," I respond helplessly as Adrien stands and rushes to the door. Before reaching the door, a loud, blaring sound comes from above.
He stops and we cover our ears and look at each other in confusion.
Then awareness dawns on both of us. The new protection system.
Just then, thick gray metal bars slide over the classroom door and windows. They make a huge clanging sound as they reach the ground. This system was installed in the school to protect the students who were always under attack. We are trapped.
The blaring sound stops, leaving earie quietness.
"Shit," Adrien murmurs.
The windows are barred but I rush to one and look outside. In the distance the city skyline is visible, looking like the normal Paris I see everyday. But to the right, a little patch of smoke is visible.
"Don't worry," I say glancing at Adrien and find him standing near the middle of the classroom, lost in thought and staring at the floor, "Chatnoir will fight the akuma and get us out of here."
But Adrien does not seem convinced. The blonde looks up, "he needs the ladybug."
"He will come," I answer, trying to convince myself as much as him.
After a few minutes of nervous pacing across the front of the classroom and the occasional worried glance out the window, I finally take the risk when my back is to Adrien and peak into my purse. My red and black kwami stares back at me. Her worried expression matches mine.
My head snaps to the window as a shrill scream pierces the air, so close that it has to be coming from the school. The clouds of smoke are growing and coming closer. The scream is so close, I can almost picture the young terrified teenager.
Where is cat noir? Why isn't he fighting? What if he's taken or hurt? I try not think of the last one, in fear of panicking. The need to get out of here is too great. Paris needs me.
My head turns to Adrien as he walks over to the bars and begins to pull at them, wanting them to bend as he pleases.
"Adrien," I say barely over a whisper as he starts pushing and pulling the bars with more force. "Adrien stop that," I shout and he turns to face me, his face red, "it's no use," and he collapses against the bars.
"Ladybug will come," the blonde says under his breath, "she will."
"No she won't," I murmured under my breath, facing away from him.
"What?" the blonde stammered, "how could you say that, she will..."
Adrien is interrupted by a sharp scream, coming too close for comfort.
"Adrien," I plead.
I need to transform. But there is no place where Adrien won't see. I whip my head around searching for something, anything. The room is bare, no rooms leading elsewhere.
More cries break out from outside the classroom.
"Adrien," I repeat as he walks, his back towards me looking at the windows, "Adrien, I need to tell you something."
The screams turn into pleading as something gets closer. I have no other choice.
"Tikki, spots on!" I yell as my kwami comes flying out of my purse.
(transformation sequence)
Adrien turns to me in shock as I turns into Ladybug.
"Marinette?" he asks in awe, his mouth gaping.
"I'll explain after," I say as the blonde steps towards me, "I'll come back and explain everything, but you have to promise not to tell anyone, for my safety."
Running towards the door, I take one last look at Adrien, who is in awe but nods in agreement. He is the first person to know. Deep down I hope that nothing interferes and that he will remember me as Marinette and Ladybug.
At the doors, I start pulling on the bars. They don't budge. I wrap my yo-yo around one of the steel rods and start pulling, using every muscle to move the bars.
"I can't," I gasp, still pulling on the thin string of my yo-yo. My grasps slips as I struggle to keep hold of the wire. I can do this, I have too. The bars do not move.
"Cataclysm!" yells a too familiar voice behind me.
In awe, I turn around just as Chatnoir come to my side and touches the steel bar. It vanishes in a moment.
Turning, I look around the room for Adrien or a sign of entry from Chatnoir. How could Chatnoir have entered? Realization dawns on me as I turn back to Chatnoir.
"Adrien?" I whisper, as a smile creeps up Chat's face.
"M'lady," he replies, bowing and reaching out a hand to catch mine, "shall we go fight this akuma?"
