That night I got no sleep. I couldn't stop worrying about whoever sent that text. I've done nothing wrong, and nothing bad has recently happened to me.
I sat up as the hours passed, staring at the ceiling and panicking.
The next morning, mom could tell that I had no sleep, "Are you feeling okay, sweetie?"
"I'm fine. I just didn't get much sleep, that's all,"
She sat me down at the table and sighed, "Levanah, I know something is wrong. You're definitely hiding something from me,"
"Mom! Stop jumping to conclusions! There's nothing wrong with me and I'm not hiding anything from you. Please stop," I said defensively.
"Alright. Anyway, I've been called in for an emergency shift so I'll be gone for most of today. Have a nice day, honey," and then she took her bag and travel flask and headed to work, again.
I called Cameron, hoping that we could move our little 'get-together' to today.
"Hey, are you free to come over now? My mom's working and we kinda just got angry with each other,"
"Okay, that's fine. Meet me at the park and you can tell me everything," he said, I could almost see his smile through the phone.
I hung up and ran upstairs to throw on my black jeans that were ripped at the knees, Joy Division shirt and a little makeup and then left the house to go to the park.
As I walked, I got the same nauseous feeling I had when I was having dinner with Cameron. I stopped and sat down on the nearby bench.-Lee's Flashback-
"Alright, Lee. Say goodbye to Sherman Oaks," Mom instructed as we both carried boxes into the truck.
"I can't wait to get away from this place. After everything that happened..." I sighed, placing the boxes in the back and getting into the passenger seat.
Mom gave me a hug, "I know it's about your dad and-" she stopped and sort of whispered the rest so I couldn't hear.
"He left us, mom. And then he goes away and dies. Dies in the worst way possible,"
"Honey, I know that it hurts that you don't have a dad, but he-" I cut her off.
"Can we just go now? I just want to forget about it, Malibu will be my fresh start,"
**
I remember it all now. My father's death, and Malibu. He left my mom and I when I just turned 14. He then sped off in a car and crashed on the freeway, instantly dying from the impact.
It suddenly crossed my mind that maybe the unknown number was threatening me with my dad's accident, but then how does that affect them?
I stood up and continued walking to the park, trying to clear my mind from the negativity.
A few minutes later, I was at the gate of the park. It was surprisingly empty, the odd kindergartener with their mom, and then there was Cameron perching on the side of the monkey bars.
"Hey! How are you?" He asked, turning off his phone and putting it in his pocket.
"Sad. I need a hug," I pouted. He pulled me in and I wrapped my arms around him. The feeling I got was like when you do around a loop on a roller-coaster; when your stomach sort of flips around.
He grinned, "You've never asked for a hug before. Why now?" He guided me over to the swing set.
"My mom thinks I'm hiding something from her, so we kinda yelled at each other this morning. And then last ni- never mind,"
"Aw, well I'm sure you two will make up again tonight. By the way, I'll be away the next few days because I'm filming some new episodes of Jessie. I'll be back Wednesday evening," he told me.
That meant I'd have to hang out with Tiffani for three school days. Fun.
"Oh, okay. Promise me you'll still text?" I stuck out my pinkie finger.
He took my pinkie in his, "I promise. It's only three days, I'm sure Tiffani won't irritate you that much,"
We both laughed as we both began to swing backwards and forwards on the swings. I stopped suddenly as my head started to throb and the nauseous feeling once again came back to me.-Lee's Flashback-
I turned my head around to face him and stuck my tongue out, "Na Na Na Na Na! You'll never catch me!"
"Of course I wi- Levanah! Look in front of you!" He yelled.
Before I had a chance to turn, my head crashed into the metal pole of the swing set. As I hit the ground, a sharp pain jolted through my head and I felt a warm, red liquid run from my ear onto my new pink dress. My surroundings span and when my eyes began to close, a terrified and sweaty Cameron kneeled above me.
"You'll be alright Levanah. Just hold my hand and you'll be fine," he took my hand and held it tight.
My face turned a pale white and my eyes finally shut.
"L-L-Lev?""Levanah? Are you awake? How are you feeling" A woman said as she leant over to check on me. She was obviously a doctor, but she looked young and she was very beautiful.
I gingerly rubbed my head, "I-I'm fine. Where am I?"
"You're at the hospital, sweetie. You had a bit of a hit to the head."
"I did? Will I be okay?" I asked worriedly.
"Don't worry, you'll be fine. Mr and Mrs Green, you can come on in now," She called outside the door for them, "this is your mom and dad, do you remember their names?"
"I think so. Um, Pamela and, um, Greyson?"
They both rushed over and hugged me tightly, "oh, honey. We're so glad you're okay! Cameron, come on in. She's absolutely fine!!'
A little boy with dark hair and tons of freckles came rushing through the door excitedly, "Lev? I'm so happy you're alright! I was so scared you wouldn't wake up!" He engulfed me into a hug too.
I tensed up and wriggled away, "I'm really sorry if I'm being rude, who are you again?"
He dropped his water bottle on the floor and the plastic shattered into thousands of tiny pieces.

"Cameron, I-I-I need to go home. Now," my heart was pounding so fast, it felt as if it was bursting right out of my chest.
This was the swing set that made me forget about my best friend. He was right all along.
"What's wrong Levanah? You look like you're gonna throw up. Do you want me to call your mom?" He took me by the arm.
"No! It's fine! I'm fine! I just need to leave, right now." I was panicking about everything as I started to run away.
All I could think of was the fact I had amnesia.
"Levanah! Please stop!" Cameron came running after me.
I yelled back, "No! I need to be alone!"
And I got out my phone whilst running home as fast as I could, "mom? Please come home now. I need to talk to you,"
I've had a few flashbacks now, all bringing back awful memories. But honestly, this was the worst one yet.
