Sam blinked.

"What happened?" she murmured. Pushing the ice sheet aside, she sat up and tried to take in her surroundings. Parvin was nowhere to be seen. "That's probably not good."

Outside the cargo doors of Omega Lab caves, she saw Al-An, 4546B's only living Precursor. He looked normal for the most part — at least, normal for a Precursor: the familiar intricate metallic body with four legs resembling a robot center, his face nothing but a light. There was something wrong with this Precursor's light, however, and instead of the normal bluish-purple it was red.

"Who...who are you?" asked Sam.

"My name is too complicated for an insufficient human to be able to comprehend or pronounce," said the Precursor.

"I meant, wait...you're an architect, right?" Sam replied.

"I am Al-An. And you're one of them. An Alteran," replied Al-An, his face-light seeming to shine momentarily brighter.

"Yes," Sam began, "Well, no. I used to be but, no, not anymore."

"My database suggests that you are Sam Ayou," said Al-An. "I am...acquainted with your sister. My consciousness was being harvested within her prefrontal cortex before a sufficient vessel was discovered. We knew each other quite well."

"You mean Robin has been here?" Sam cried. "Where is she? Tell me where she is!" Sam was overrun with emotion.

"She is no longer on this planet," Al-An replied, unmoved by Sam's outburst. "She has gone to my home world. I am here to explore, and what I have found is disturbing."

"What have you found?" Asked Sam.

Al-An hesitated for a second before responding. "My kind first came to this planet to discover a cure for the disease called Khaara. We found a specimen that should have been capable of distributing a substance known as enzyme 42, but this particular specimen was too old to distribute a proper vaccine. However, we discovered she had laid seven eggs, one of which was already destroyed and another that we, regrettably, destroyed ourselves.

"As we were unable to find a younger specimen, and there were only five eggs left, we decided to focus on the containment of Khaara, rather than creating a vaccine. The quarantine enforcement platform was constructed so that the severity of Khaara could not spread outside the boundaries of this planet.

"My consciousness was separated from my body and put into a cache. I do not know what happened over the 2,000 years that I was gone, but eventually the quarantine enforcement platform got shut down. I do not know why or how this happened, but I cannot let it go quietly." One of Al-An's hands sparked with a green electricity. "This planet will never be the same again," he said.

Suddenly, a green propulsion canon-like ability shot out of all four of his hands, bringing everything together. Sam yelped in surprise as she was swept up into this cyclone of green energy, fauna, and flora, along with human technology and precursor ion stuff. The last thing she saw before she blacked out was a peeper and an arctic peeper merging together, forming a tropical peeper.

Two days later, Sam woke from the coma. Seeing within her HUD that she was getting calls from an unknown Precursor individual, she answered it.

"Get to the wreck fields. Go through the cave. When you get to the end you will see a sharp drop down into what would, in other parts of the planet, be known as the void. I have created an area in which there is no real void, only an electric field around a specified area.

"You will see things within the cave. Once you swim through the cave and void strip you will find the wreck fields. If you find a Precursor of technology within the wreck fields, you have to download it to your personal digital assistant."
