Minatozaki Sana's Point of View

Life has been pretty tough on me lately. I've been burdened with tons of school works, student council tasks, and family problems. I've learned how to cope with these problems. It now even feels like it's my second nature. That's how we should handle problems anyway, in my opinion.

Amidst all these problems and curses, I can confidently say I'm gifted with friends. Friends whom I can count on, and so far they've never failed me. They fulfill the exact goal of a good friendship: to know when your dear ones need help even if they do not ask for it. Momo and Mina, they're a big help here in Korea. Who knew that I'd end up with other two Japanese girls once I move here? One day I posted an announcement in the university's online community forum that I was looking for roommates to share an apartment-dorm with, then the next, I see two girls calling me saying that they want in. Coincidentally, the two of them were both Japanese. How lucky we were, right?

We didn't have a hard time living with one another. The three of us had big differences in terms of personalities and preferences inside the dorms, but we somehow always find ways to settle our differences and make the three of us work.

Now that I'm starting a new life in college, which means I am surrounded by a new set of people, adjusting wasn't really as hard as I thought. I guess it's because of how extroverted I am, and how easy I get along with people. The student council of Seoul National University even picked me to become one of their members, and for that, I am thankful. My circle of friends grew bigger and bigger, mainly due to me joining the student council. The one that really stood out in the little circle I have, apart from Momo and Mina, was this girl named Dahyun.

Kim Dahyun.

Kim Dahyun's in 12th grade. I believe she transferred here to apply for the senior high school program. To know about this was shocking, since as far as I know, senior high school transferees weren't the type of people the council picked since they were new and basically had no grasp of the ins and outs of the school. I mean, I found out that's also the reason why I only was picked when I got into my first year in college. The way I see it, Dahyun is special.

Dahyun. She's special.

I still remember that day as clear as crystal. About only a month or two has gone by since the academic year started. It was a Friday when the student council have called various new recruits for a meeting, to replace those who have graduated, transferred to another university, or simply stepped down their positions.

The student council lounge-slash-office was nothing better than the teacher's faculty room. It was a room filled with office tables on the sides, then a long table right in the middle. A sofa could be seen by the end of the room. A television and a huge white board below it was also in the council's office. It's the first time I've ever set foot here.

The place reeked of a serious and awkward vibe. Probably because people barely knew each other, and most were new recruits. Everyone in the room, assuming they're all part and will be part of the student council, gathered in the long table. No one was talking nor looking at anyone, just waiting for the head of the council to come.

A girl who's as white or even whiter than Snow White caught my attention. I see her enter the room with a smile that conveyed awkwardness, but still showed kindness. She sat by my right.

You see, I get what I want. I admit I've dated with lots of people, both boys and girls.

Yes, I swing both ways, sweetie.

Anyway, it's true that I've dated lots of people during my time here in Korea and here inside the university. Most dates ended up being onesies and just casual fling dates that weren't followed up with more. I've never had a long term and serious relationship with anyone. It's not what I'm looking for anyway. Casual flirting and just being care free in general is what I prefer.
