Trigger Warning: Injuries, blood, surgery, mystic stuff.

Rainy Day

Pigsy had already closed up shop for the day. Sundays were nice and lazy after 5pm. He sat back with a cup of tea, and Tang walked in with some sandwiches. He was no good at cooking, but he could make a good sub.

Pulling the coffee table closer they both sat down on the floor leaned back against the couch and chatted. It was supposed to be their evening. At least until there was a lazy tap on the door.

Pigsy put his sub sandwich down and patted Tangs knee. He tried to think of who it might be at that hour. It was about 7pm now and the sun had already gone down. Perhaps it was a package he forgot about? Or maybe it was someone who lost their way, wrong address?

He opened the front door and someone fell right into his arms. He looked down at the familiar orange jacket and monkey symbol. There were holds in his jacket, and blood coming from them. It looked like he tried to run from a battle that was much too much for him. There were so many fresh wounds on his back and lots seemed like they still had metal sticking out.

"Tang...go put the kettle on the stove! We're gonna need the hot water." Pigsy called. Tang walked around the corner to see MK in Pigsy's arms. The pig demon struggled to get MK positioned right on the bed. The poor teenager was out like a light.

Pigsy fired off a text to Monkey King. he was going to need to know about this. There was a quick text returned that he was on his way.

Tang pulled out a black back and turned on an overhead lamp. Pigsy was good at assisting but it was Tang who was the one who knew how to take care of wounds like this. He opened the back and started to pull tools out and scrub them clean in the steaming hot water, and put them into a bowl of rubbing alcohol.

"He's gonna be okay?" Tang looked at Pigsy as he asked that question.

"I want to say yes Pigsy, but I don't know what's going on internally. The best thing you and I can do is pray to Buddha that it missed his important organs. He's not immortal like Monkey King is.

Oh MK wasn't going to like this part...Tang pulled out a heavy pair of garment sheers and started to cut the jacket, and shirt off him. The kid lay bare back. There were lots of burns, and wounds in his back. Tang pushed something into the boy's skin.

"This will numb him enough to not feel what I'm about to do. He'll be comfortable at least. " Tang didn't like the idea of doing any of this, especially to MK. Pigsy and He had taken him in and even though he didn't know it, but in secret they called him 'my boy' or 'son'

Tang watched Pigsy as he washed his hands. Pigsy reached up and ran his fingers through MK's hair. Lightly whispering to him.

"Heya kid, you're in good hands, Tang here...he's gonna make sure you're alright. Just hang in there and...dad and pop will nurse you back to health. Just hang tight kid.

MK reached up taking Pigsy's hand. Both Tang and Pigsy both thought he was unconscious. Perhaps too weak to do much. He was panting hard listening to Pigsy.

Tang pulled the tweezers out and reached over pulling the one that looked to be the smallest out. Throwing the piece of metal into the metal tray. He looked up at Pigsy who looked pail, which was odd for a pig.

Each piece hit the tray, and each wound closed off.

It was the last one that looked like it would cause problems. Tang couldn't use the tweezers on it, he pulled the piece of metal. MK gasped and gave a weak cry.

"Thought you said he couldn't feel anything?" Pigsy looked upset about the fact.

"This one is odd...see here how it glows. This isn't normal metal like the rest is. It looks like it might very well be a magical tool that broke off into his back." He touched the piece of metal again and it lit up red.

"If its going to harm him, what can we do to make it stop?" Pigsy asked.

"You need something to make sure its not going to kill him." They both looked at the chair by the door. Just how long had Wukong been there without them knowing?

"What do you mean Wukong?" Pigsy still wasn't too happy about the monkey for ditching them long ago.

"Move." Wukong pushed Pigsy aside. The pig looked as if he were ready to shove back, but Tang put up his hand. Wukong leaned forward whispering into MK's ear. He looked at Tang who looked baffled. But motioned to the piece of metal. Tang reached over to take the metal out only Wukong grabbed Tangs hand.

"You swear he's your son now right?" He asked. Tang couldn't pull his hand away from the Monkey king. Tang nodded his affirmation. He realized as this happened. Wukong didn't squeeze his hand hard. Just enough for a small cut. His blood oozed down the metal piece and into MK's wound.

"I know who you are, who you once were. If we're lucky, so will your blood." Oh yes, a piece of him can make people immortal...Wukong pulled the metal piece from MK's back and the wounds began to glow gold and heal themselves. MK was immortal thanks to Tang being Tripitaka.

Pigsy could feel MK's hand squeeze his tightly before letting it ease back up. He looked around at Wukong.

"Could have told us that before we started."

"I didn't know, I was just letting Tang work. Don't stop the doctor when he's working, thats like bad, and can potentially hurt him. So I waited till I was needed."

"He'll be down for a little while." Tang said running his fingers over MK's back to make sure everything was alright and all the stitches he had placed on him came out alright.

Wukong yawned and let his cloud form around him. It would be a long night. If he was right, from now on MK might feel some of Tangs more...solid emotions. Love, joy, anger, fear...and Tang would feel his. It would be very nerve wracking for a boy.

Tang smiled as Pigsy pulled a blanket out of the closet and placed it onto MK. The two would sleep on the couch. It wouldn't be the first time.

It was late into the afternoon when they woke up untangling themselves from each other. They realized there was a second pair of legs to untangle from Pigsy and Tang stopped and looked at each other. MK had crawled on them in the night. All they could see was the tuft of brown hair. One hand was around Tangs fingers and the other arm was thrown around Pigsy's midsection.

"He had a nightmare." Wukong whispered as his cloud hovered by. "I watched him stand there as if he wanted to wake you both up. Opted to just lay down with you. Kids got some emotional baggage he's not talking about. Might wanna...try to get him to. Until then...I'll be back at the mountain. Good luck...dads..." He disappeared out the window.

Tang ran his fingers over MK's hair and sighed.

"I'll watch him, you go make breakfast. He's got to be hungry." Tang whispered

"Yeah he's bound to be..." Tang watched Pigsy walk off mumbling about ingredients that would be good for him to help him recover.

Tang pulled MK closer and sighed. Five more minutes...he'd let him sleep for five more minutes before he...Tang took a deep breath and... sat up nearly knocking MK off the couch. Covering his nose with the blanket.

"Shower...you smell like something that crawled out of a spider hole..." MK sat up and gasped.

"Do I really?" He was awake...the whole time.
