"Are you almost ready?" Lucius whines as Salem comes out of the bathroom. "Calm down." She giggles as she ties the end of the loose braid that she put her long hair in.

She was dressed in black jeans, a loose-fitting, white sweater, and black heels.

She grabs a hold on Lucius with one hand and a small handbag in the other. He suddenly apparated and she opened her eyes to find the most beautiful mansion that she had ever laid eyes on.

"Welcome to Malfoy Manor." He tells her as she struggles to find the right words.

Once they go in, Salem is taken aback by the beautiful infrastructure as Lucius talks to the house-elf.

Salem's family was rather rich and had a house that was almost as big as Lucius's, but her mother opted to move out of the wizarding world and live in the muggle world with her father. The two manors were similar but the one in the wizarding world had much greater differences.

"Welcome home Master Malfoy. Would you like me to notify Mister Malfoy of your arrival?" The small house elf asks. "Yes," Lucius responds as the elf runs off.

"Well if you liked the outside so much, you should see the rest." Lucius holds out his hand for her as she smiles and takes it.

They go through three levels of the manor, including but limited to, the ballroom, kitchen, the wine cellar, the sitting room, the library, the study, Lucius's room, and they were now stopped in a small room with four rows of bookshelves.

"What is this?" Salem asks as they walk in. "This is where we keep family records. It's really not much." He tells her.

"What's that?" She runs her hand over the dusty canvas on the wall. "That our family tree. See." He says as he points to the small portrait of himself under a picture of Abraxas and a blank picture with just a name. "Whos this?" She asks as she points to the blank picture.

"My mother, Medila Malfoy. She was alive long enough to name me and then she passed away," he tells her as she feels an intense wave of guilt. "Oh Lucy, I'm so sorry, I wouldn't have-"

"Hey, don't be sorry," he brushes his hand over her cheek so she would look up at him. "Come on, let's get out of here." He says, trying not to linger on the subject any longer.

Once they go back upstairs they run into Abraxas coming out of his Study.

"Ah, there you are. The elf said you came back home with your friend." He says, sending chills down Salem's spine. "Might I have a word with you in the foyer Lucius?" he asks.

"Yes, father. I'll be back in a minute." He tells Salem before she walks back to his room.

The Foyer

"What is this girl to you?" Abraxas whisper yells.

"What?" Lucius asks. "You heard me." He says with a nasty expression on his face.

"She's my girlfriend. But I don't see what the big deal is, she's pureblo-"

"It doesn't matter. I made a deal with the Black's that you would be marrying Narcissa." He cuts Lucius off.

"Father I don't love her, I can barely stand being in the room with that insufferable parasite." Lucius pleads with his father.

"I couldn't care less. I made a promise with Cygnus Black and Malfoy's don't go back on promises." He tells his son.

"I am not backing out on Salem because you made a promise with Cygnus Black." Lucius stands his ground for once.

Abraxas bites the inside of his cheek to keep himself from retaliating on his son in a way that he may regret. He contemplates what to do before he lets out a frustrated sigh.

"Listen, closely son. You get till the end of the year. Do whatever you wish with the girl but once you graduate it's over." He tells his son.

"But father-"

"That's my final decision." He snaps at his son before exiting.

"Dammit!" Lucius yells, slamming his fist into a wall.

"Hey, are you alright? I thought I heard yelling." Salem says as Lucius walks into his room to find her sprawled out in his bed. "Oh, it was nothing. He was just yelling at me over a silly mark in History Of Magic." He lies, not wanting to hurt her.

"Oh, well look what I just received from Severus." She says as she giggles and hands him the letter.

Salem, Lucius

The curses worked perfectly. Remus, Sirius, and Peter have been running around all day panicking because they can't form any words. Meanwhile, the professors have trapped Potter in the hospital wing, trying to find a countercurse to cure him without touching him.

I can't thank you enough.

-Severus

"I should start letting you curse all my enemies," Lucius tells her as the two laugh.

"I'm not opposed to the idea." She says as he crawls into bed with her and begins to pepper her with kisses.....

***********

After a few hours of snuggling, napping, and reading in bed together, night had fallen. They were sure that Abraxas had gone to bed so they snuck down to the kitchen.

Lucius sat on the counter as Salem made coffee for the two.

"Miss Sioux, I'd be more than happy to do that for you." The house-elf pleads with Salem. "Elly it's fine, I enjoy this." She reassures the elf.

The small elf nods and quickly runs away as Lucius snacks on a pumpkin pastie.

"Why don't you let the elves do this stuff? I do. I think I've stepped in this kitchen maybe three times." He says as Salem chuckles at his lack of household skills.

"Because like sewing, cooking is one of the few muggle things that I enjoy." She tells him, making reference to a few weeks ago when she sewed up Lucius's robe.

However, she was struggling a bit. In the muggle world, they had electric coffee makers but all she could find in the wizarding world was a french press.

"Well, you know almost everything about my family and I but I don't know much about your life outside of Hogwarts," Lucius says, trying to strike up more conversation.

"Muffliato," Salem says as she casts a soundproof charm on the kitchen.

"Well... My mum is a witch but my father is a muggle. When they were married, my mum still wanted to stay in the wizarding world but she knew that she couldn't bring him over to our side. So they decided to live in France together. However, they live near a cross-over from the muggle to the wizarding world. Like London To Diagon Alley." She explains to him.

"I'm curious. How do muggles and witches work together?" He asks with no hint of sarcasm in his voice.

"Well when it really is true love, it doesn't matter what you are." She tells him as she smiles, making his heart beat a little faster than he would like.

She sits next to him on the counter, handing him the second cup of coffee.

"Have you ever tried drinking water?" He asks, trying to suppress a laugh.

"No. My internal organs are constantly screaming at me." She says as the two chuckle while Salem put her head on his shoulder.
