Ch.19 Birthday Girl

    I sit up from bed hearing something loudly banging on the wall across the hall. I get up trying not to wake Sage even though she's a heavy sleeper and wouldn't wake up if I screamed right now. I reach into the nightstand next to our bed and grab my gun before going into the sitting area. Once I'm in there I can hear the banging more clearly, it sounds like....drums?

    After standing there for a minute or two I realize it's just Brianna. I put the gun into the cushion of the couch and leave the room to go check on Brianna. Once I'm in her room I see she's sitting on the floor in the middle of her room playing with her drum set. I walk over and sit cross legged in front of her. She stops what she's doing then stands up before plopping down to the ground, she try's to say birthday but it comes out as burtay. I giggle at her before saying "yes princess it is your birthday today your this many." I say while holding up two fingers. She starts to laugh then crawl walks over to me climbing into my lap. She yells burtay and smiles a toothless grin.

    I hear an awe from the doorway and look up to see Sage leaning against the wall smiling at us. Man I love my little family and I would do anything for them. I pick up Brianna and take her over to Sage and she starts yelling burtay again causing us both to smile. "Okay sweetie lets go make some breakfast we have a long day ahead of us." Sage says as I wrap my hand around her waist and we walk downstairs together.

Since Sage had moved in I only have my maid and cook come in every once in a while. Sage insists on us doing all the cooking and cleaning ourselves. When we go into the kitchen Sage sets our birthday girl down in her high chair. I put my hands around her waist and nestle my face into the crook of her neck and mumble "What we making for breakfast love. I think we should have something a bit heavy since our Brianna's princess party isn't until around 5 and it's only 9am" she shivers from the feeling of me talking into her neck.

"Okay let's make some Belgian waffles, bacon, and eggs. How's that sound?" She asks me while pouring Brianna some Cheerios onto her high chair. I tell her that sounds good then get started on the waffle batter while she starts making the bacon.

"Love remember not to use any strawberries Brianna's allergic." I say okay then begin to pour the first pancakes batter into the waffle iron. Today should be a good day apparently Monica called Sage a few days ago asking if she could come to Brianna's party. Then minutes after Maria asked Sage if she could come too. Even though I trust neither of them I want Brianna's mother to be in her life and I don't think that Maria would seriously hurt a child.

Once we're eating and Brianna is playing in her food I get a call from Twan my security guard who stays on one of the lower floors in the building. "Boss you have 20 minutes to get out of here I just got word that a threat is coming to take you and Sage out." I stand up and go into one of the drawers grabbing my gun. From the side of my eye I see Sage getting Brianna out of her high chair and standing near me. See that's one reason I love her, she doesn't ask questions when it's time to get the fuck out of somewhere. "Okay Twan we're leaving now try to stall them as long as you can if you can and have a car ready if not I'll get one." He says yes ma'am then I grab Sages hand and we run up stairs.

    "Babe take Brianna and go into our bedroom and get the gun from under the cushion of the couch, then go pack me and you some clothes quickly we have to get out of here." She nods and goes into our bedroom. I go into Brianna's room and grab her little suit case packing anything she might need while we're gone. I run into my bedroom and see Sage struggling to carry Brianna and a suitcase I'm assuming is full of our clothes. I grab the suit case from her then tell her to follow me to the elevator in the back of our closet.

   Once we're in the elevator I quickly explain what is going on to Sage. She looks at me for a moment then suprisingly leans in giving me a quick kiss and saying "I love you so much". I tell her I love her too then grab her hand and hold the gun in my other one with the suitcases between my arms. We got off the elevator in the parking garage and get into one of my lesser known cars.

    "Babe we have to leave the country for a little while, We'll be safer in my territory in Italy." She nods her head then says "Wait I can't leave the country me and Brianna don't have passports." I laugh a little "Why is that the thing that you felt was most important about leaving for Italy on the run."

      She looks at me seriously "Because I trust you with my life you have proven that you care about and love me and Brianna so no I'm not afraid to go anywhere as long as I'm with you." I try to focus on the road but I really love this woman. I reach over and grab her hand for the rest of the hour drive to my private airport with my 5 planes I use for my "business". "I'm sorry my life messed up Brianna's birthday." I feel bad that today was the day Xavior would try to take them from me I thought that he would at least wait til after his daughters birthday. "It's fine she's still little she'll be happy for anything. Are there any kids where we're going?"

    "Uh yeah my stepmom and father who live at mansion have two sons about the same age as Brianna and Jennifer who you met at the club has a daughter a few years older than her." I have no problems with my "stepmom" were really close in age she was 22 when she had the twins and is 25 now so she's same age as Sage. She nods I know she's happy that Brianna will have some kids her age to be around. "There's something we need to talk about when we get into the plane." She says okay then we pull into the airport and I see that my guards are already here waiting for me.

I walk Sage and Brianna over to my jet and once their inside I call Twan over so he can debrief me on what happened while we were trying to get out of the building. "What happened back there how did Xavior get into the premises?" I ask him because Xavior shouldn't even be able to show his face in this city without getting shot at. "Well boss what happened was, Xavior managed to get a tracker onto Sage at her job. He planned ahead and made sure she never saw him." Okay so he used Sage to get into our building without anyone noticing. I nod my head in understanding then Mark and Jennifer pull up together.

    Once they get out of the car I see Jen get her daughter Alexia from the backseat while Mark grabs their bags. Alexia's only 4 so her and Brianna can play together on the plane. We all board the jet and I walk over to Sage and Brianna who are sitting in a secluded area towards the bedroom I have in the back. "Hey love do you mind if Jennifer watches Brianna while we go talk in the back for a little while?" She looks over at Jen playing with her daughter and says okay. I pick up Brianna who's playing with her little bunny she has and take her over to Jen.

    "Hey Jen do you mind watching Brianna for a little bit while me and Sage go talk in the back?" She's says that's fine then takes Brianna from my arms. I walk back over to Sage and lead her over to the back of the jet we're there's a small bedroom.

    I sit down on the bed and pull her into my lap. She wraps her arms around my neck, "so um what did we need to talk about?", she asks me nervously. I take a deep breath and get ready to explain everything to her.
