Ch. 2 I'll See You Again

    I wake up remembering everything that had happened last night. I felt stupid for letting a stranger into my apartment, but she needed my help.

    I get out of bed to go check on her but when I look at the couch, and nobody is there. I look around and check the bathroom she's gone. I wouldn't have believed she had been here at all if there wasn't a first aid kit on my kitchen counter with a note next to it saying.

Thank you for saving me I did not take anything from your apartment. You shouldn't be walking at night please be safe. I will see you again salvatrice.

   I giggle at her note that is all over the place but sweet. She seemed nice enough I don't know what salvatrice means but I'll ask her "when I see her again". Thankfully I don't have work today so I can get some more sleep. 

   I wake up again at 1pm because I'm feeling hungry. I get out of bed and go to the kitchen I look around and see that I have no food. I guess I have to go grocery shopping today.

  I go to my closet and put on a cropped T-shirt with some blue joggers and my blue and white Jordan 1s. I let my thick curls flow down my back, and I put on some lipgloss.

   I call my friend Imani and ask her if I could borrow her car. She says okay and I walk 3 doors down to her apartment. I knock on the door and she lets me in asking how I've been lately.

   I can't answer her truthfully because I don't want Lucia to get into any trouble so I lie and say "nothing much I've just been busy at the hospital." That is partially true I have been busy with work.

   Me and Imani became close friends after we met in med school and once we started interning at the same hospital we became best friends.

   Imani goes to get her car keys all the while asking me what happened to my car. I reply with a shrug since I feel embarrassed about how I lost my car. I tell her, "long story short, about a week ago my car got impounded because I parked in a no park zone"

   She burst out in laughter between laughs she said "Girl this is LA you could park in front of your apartment and walk to work it's literally less than 15 minutes away." I stare at her with a blank expression, and tell her she should be on my side with an eye roll.

   She starts laughing again giving me her keys. I say thank you then leave her apartment and go to the nearest grocery store. I get some fruits and veggies before heading over to the snack aisle and getting a ton of snacks. When I leave the grocery store I decide to take a quick trip to the mall.

    About 2 hours later I get back home and give Imani her keys. I take a quick shower then settle down on my couch and turn on a movie. I've been watching this movie for 30 minutes but I couldn't tell you anything about since my minds been stuck on Lucia and if she's okay.
