I smile at the blonde man before turning away and teleporting back to the base.
The hospital is too risky. If they start asking questions it'll be troublesome to deal with.
Upon appearing back at the base, I place him on the floor in front of the bar and start to take all the feathers out of his body.
"What happened to two horns over there?" Dabi narrowed his eyes at Itsuki's injured body before smirking out of amusement. "Sorry, i meant one horned."
I turned to him with my fire quirk activated. "I am not in the mood right now, Dabi."
He smiled manically as he leaned forward and activated his own quirk. "Is that supposed to be a threat, princess?"
I chuckled, fed up with everyone and everything, I stood up and walked towards Dabi with an aggressive smile. "Why so worked up, Dabi? Does my fire remind you of someone?"
He grabbed my collar and threw me onto the bar table, pinning me down. "I will burn you until you're ashes are the only thing left on this table." He pushed me further into the hard surface. "Don't try me, princess." He spat the nickname out with a threatening tone, venom laced in his raspy voice.
My eyes turned a glowing amethyst color as I glared at him back. I grabbed his wrist and replied in the same tone he used. "Who the fuck do you think you're threatening?"
Our staring contest was interrupted by Itsuki clearing his throat. "Still bleeding out over here."
Dabi clicked his tongue in annoyance and let go of me, watching me walk back towards Itsuki before his eyes stopped at the red feathers. He stared at them for a quick second before walking away silently.
I finished taking out all the feathers before using one of my healing quirks to heal his small wounds and bandaging up the large wounds.
"Y/n."
I hummed in acknowledgment as I carried him into his room and gently laid him down on his bed.
"I'm sorry."
My hands froze at his words before I continued to lay him down and make him feel more comfortable. "For?'
He grabbed my hand, our eyes meeting, and his eyebrows furrowed; we both looked at each other with a soft, caring look. "I promised I wouldn't use my quirk on you, not after what happened the first time, but i used it on you today."
Itsuki referred to the first time we ever sparred, or rather, fought. We had been using hand-to-hand combat at first until eventually quirks came into play. I hadn't known what his quirk was at the time so when it hit me, I was taken back.
It's funny, nothing has changed since then. I still had the same nightmare as I did that night he used his quirk on me. It was always my family. It was always the idea of never being able to escape them, of realizing that they were right all along. It made me wonder what I was doing wrong. You'd think that because you dont have a certain thing in your life anymore that you'll just forget about it, but in reality, you think about it every second.
How do you escape something mentally? The answer is: you cant. There is no escaping. There is no running away. Which is what scared me the most.
"It's fine, Itsuki. You didn't mean to."
He lifted his hand and tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear before resting his hand on the side of my neck. "But I still did it. And I'm sorry. I shouldn't have let my emotions get out of hand like that. It wasn't right of me."
