"Are you nervous?"
I turn to the manly voice and see Kirishima smiling at me softly.
Before I could say anything he put a hand on my shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze. "Don't worry, I'm sure out of all of us you'll be the one to pass!"
I chuckled slightly before giving him a warm smile. "I could say the same to you. Stop overthinking it, Kiri. You're already a hero in my eyes."
Kirishima's eyes widened slightly as he looked at me in shock. "But how did you know?"
"Your smile." I watch as he tilts his head in confusion which causes me to smile. "You don't have that stupid grin on your face."
Before Kirishima could respond, the bus stopped and we finally arrived at National Dagoba Arena, where the exam was taking place. Some of us were taking deep breaths to calm our nerves while others were chattering with excitement.
I scanned the area while Aizawa gave everyone a pep talk.
There are so many different schools here...
As I look around, I make eye contact with a guy from a high school in the west called Shiketsu. He was quite tall and he looked built.
He smiled at me before his attention got pulled away by what Kiri was saying. His eyes seemed to light up and his cheeks became light pink as he sneaked closer to our group before yelling out our moto.
"You shouldn't just barge in on other peoples huddles, Inasa." A boy with indigo hair, kind of like Shinsou's, spoke with disappointment. You could tell this was usual behavior for 'Inasa' based off his classmates reactions.
I smiled and let out a small chuckle at how weird the boy's behavior was as he began to apologize by bowing so deep that his head hit the ground and blood poured down his forehead.
"I just wanted to try saying it just once! Plus Ultra!" He yelled and continued to yell about how he loved U.A. highschool and how he was honored to compete against us.
Inasa and his group left as they began to talk about the blood rolling down his head.
"Inasa Yoarashi..."
Hagekure asked Aizawa If he knew him in which Aizawa stated that this 'Inasa' boy was strong, concerning the whole class.
To be recognized by Aizawa you have to be something special...
"Last year, same year as you guys, he got the highest scores in the recommendations placings, but he turned down his acceptance."
I tilt my head in curiosity as I watched their group walk away.
Inasa looked back once more to say his final farewell to our group and before he turned back around he caught my eye and smiled at me.
My lips lifted into a smirk as I watched him walk away.
I cant wait to see what you're made of.
"Eraser? It's you, isn't it, Eraser?!" We all look over to a woman with light green hair and an orange cloth wrapped around her head. "I've seen you on TV and the Sports Festival, but it's been a while since I've seen you in person!"
I raise my eyebrow at this very attractive woman and look to Izuku to watch the gears in his head turn as he figures out who she is.
"Lets get married!"
"No."
Mina jumps at the woman and Aizawa's interaction, happy to find a new ship.
I shake my head with a smile realizing that the pink themed girl will never change.
"Smile Hero: Ms.Joke!" Izuku finally exclaimed with stars in his eyes.
Tilting my head and furrowing my brows in confusion, I stare at the woman with a curious gaze.
Weird. I dont think I've seen her in AFO's files and documents...
"Joke, since you're here that means..." Aizawa trailed off and for some reason I got distracted by how bad his posture was to realize the other students coming our way.
Has it always been that bad? He's hunching over so much for no reason...I want to straighten his back for him...
I went to walk up to him but a boy that looked like Izuku just taller and with black hair grabbed my hands and held them with a smile.
"Being able to take on any challenges no matter what is amazing!" He spoke while looking me in the eyes and giving off so much of a forced friendly aura it almost made me cringe.
He went on about how all heroes should have what we have before turning to Bakugo and bringing up the villain attack he was caught up in.
Now that I think about it...why does Bakugo have a reputation of getting taken by villains so much...He's around them almost as much as me.
Bakugo slapped the boys hand away that was put out for a handshake. "Stop pretending. What you're saying doesnt match the look on your face."
The boy's aura changed as soon as Bakugo finished speaking and then automatically changed back when Kiri told Bakugo to stop being rude.
"Go change into your costumes and get to orientation. Stop wasting time." Aizawa spoke in a monotone voice as he walked toward the Arena.
*
A man, who looks like sleep isnt in his vocabulary, stumbled his way to the stand above all of the participants. "Well then, lets do that provisional license thing...I'm Mera from the Heroes Public Safety Commision."
I tuned him out as I looked around at all the participants. Most of them had something very unique to them, wether that be crazy colored hair or an octopus leg or fur.
Only one seemed to catch my gaze. A boy that looked a year or two older than me stood across the room from me. He had long dark red hair that he wore in a low side pony. His left side of his head was shaved and I swore I could see a tattoo peeking out of his shirt.
I studied him for a little before his eyes made contact with mine.
Anyone could tell from first glance that he was trouble, which is why I felt more drawn to him than to anyone else in the room.
His eyes were obsidian-like and upon seeing me, he smirked.
We both observed each other as if there was an unspoken agreement that we were supposed to meet today, but before we could walk up to each other the exam began to take place.
"Y/n, come on!" I heard Mina yell next to me before grabbing my wrist.
