chapter six

"So we'll never be apart, don't you let it go to waaaaste!" Amelia sang along from the top of her lungs, tapping her hands onto her thighs to the beat of one of her favorite 5 Seconds Of Summer songs, earning a grin from Daniel as he drove them around town.

The two had talked about the small things while eating their KFC, and Daniel would occasionally laugh when Amelia would drown her fries and chicken burger with barbecue saus- finding it adorable how such a small thing was able to make her dance around in her seat.

The sky was changing colors as Daniel parked the car, which made the scenery look like a pretty picture you'd only find on Pinterest. Both of them found themselves silent while looking at the sight in front of them, a comfortable silence washing over the pair.

Daniel turned his head to look at the brunette seated next to him, the sun beaming on her face as she kept staring at the view. The faux blonde took the keys out before setting his eyes onto the view once again, afraid that if he kept looking at her, she'd notice him getting slightly interested in her with every look he shared with Amelia.

He softly sighed to himself before reaching backwards, his hand taking ahold of a hot pink oversized hoodie he had taken with him to make sure she wasn't going to be cold. Daniel placed it on her lap, causing Amelia to shake out of her daydream while she looked at the sky.

"Oh he came prepared," She joked, letting her hands stroke the soft fabric and fingers fiddling with the same colored strings. "Thank you, Seavey."

Daniel playfully rolled his eyes at the nickname she was giving him, his last name smoothly rolling off her tongue. Usually, he wouldn't like someone giving him that nickname, but the way she sent him a grin while calling him Seavey just made him weak in the knees.

"I just don't want you stealing mine as we walk the beach," He joked before sticking out his tongue and opening the door, to which she mirrored him and did the same.

After throwing on the hoodie, Amelia walked up to Daniel's side of the car after she caught a few girls slapping their hands in front of their mouths and looking at the fake couple. Daniel didn't seem to notice at all as his back was facing the girls, but it was obvious they recognized either one of them.

"Grab my hand," Amelia told him quietly as he turned around, both of them now facing the group of girls. Daniel furrowed his eyebrows but still did it anyways, letting their fingers tangle together as he reached for her purse- putting his keys inside of them.

"Do you think they're still watching us?" Daniel asked her quietly as they walked in the opposite direction, not being able to look at the young girls, a chuckle falling from his mouth.

"How do you think I'm able to see when my back if facing them too, you lil dumbass?" She asked him sarcastically, sending him a playful glare.

Daniel stopped walking, causing Amelia to stumble back slightly. He took this opportunity to pull her against his body, hands untangling to now rest onto her waist. He raised an eyebrow to silently ask the brunette if she was willing to play along, and it caused things to click inside her mind as to why she was doing this. It could be the boost their fake relationship needed when the girls would publish pictures of them together.

Amelia was quick to raise her hands to cup Daniel's cheeks, the feeling of his slight stubble underneath her fingertips way too familiar. It made her think back to their first night together, and it silently caused a smile to form.

Daniel noticed this, and it caused him to chuckle as well, "What are you smiling about, weirdo?"

The brunette shook her head slightly before letting her hands slide to the back of Daniel's neck. She lightly tugged the long strands to make his face inch closer to hers, "Don't talk, just kiss me before they leave."

It didn't take long for Daniel to pull her even closer and to lean downwards to capture their lips together in a nice and soft kiss. It wasn't anything too much, just a few small kisses after they would pull back. It felt as if they weren't forcing anything, even if they slightly were.

They didn't feel any type of pressure as they kissed because it wasn't the first time they did it, but it was the first time both of them were completely sober and weren't led to any intimate actions because of the alcohol running through their veins.

"Daniel," She mumbled against his lips, letting her fingertips run through his hair, "I think they're gone."

Daniel hummed against her lips before lightly pulling back, softly squeezing her hips before looking up to see if the group was still watching them, but there were no young girls to be seen. "They are, yeah," He cleared his throat, letting his hands fall down from where they rested on her hoodie clothed body.

Amelia grinned and rolled her eyes before reaching forward to grab his hand, taking him by surprise when she tangled her fingers together and pulled him to the concrete path way that lead down the sand until they reached the beach.

He had asked her why she grabbed his hand, to which she casually told him that it would look more natural then them grabbing each other's hands whenever someone would look. Now it would look as if they were already holding hands without planning anything. Just like a real couple.

"So how does it feel to be the guy everyone wants as their boyfriend?" She asked him with a chuckle, taking a sip through the straw of her ice tea, "I mean, you've got so many women dying to be yours."

Daniel rolled his eyes playfully, and he noticed it was something he did a lot when he was with Amelia. He found himself thinking that their teasing was a cute way of bonding, and her sarcasm lacing her words made him weirdly comfortable around her because her behavior mirrored his so well.

"Stop saying that," He groaned, throwing his head back as a loud laugh escaped from Amelia's mouth. She smiled at him, patting his leg as a way of saying it actually was true.

"Seavey," She spoke up, "I feel nauseous saying this, but how can anyone not think you're attractive."

Daniel's eyebrows raised upwards at her statement, a smirk following. It was nice to hear she found him attractive because that meant she was actually drawn to him ever since he stole her shots and they had their first night together.

When he was about to speak up, she cut him off by shaking her head and chuckling, "Don't push things, Seavey. Giving you a compliment a day is already hard for me."
