"I have to go, the team will be up soon. I can't be seen leaving your office..." Andy spoke quietly as she traced random patterns softly on Robert's chest.
The did a lot of things last night, but talking wasn't one of them. After shift, they agreed to go to Robert's house and talk about everything. They needed to sort out how they could work together and be together at the same time, there were boundaries and rules that needed to be lined out.
One of them being, no more secrets or lies.
"Five more minutes?" Robert asked, pulling her closer by her waist. "I like this feeling right now."
"I do too, but I also need to shower, and put clothes on." She replied, looking up at him, a small smile tugging on the corners of her lips.
"You're coming home right?" He asked, changing the subject as Andy moved out of his grasp and started moving around his bunk to gather her clothes.
Home, she never really thought of it as her home. But it really was, well, Robert and Luna were her home, wherever they were was where home was.
"Yeah," She nodded, smiling softly. "I'm coming home."
Andy finally managed to get up and shower, putting clean clothes on as well. It wasn't long before Pruitt was coming in with Luna. The little girl was surprised but happy when she saw her parents walking out together, she could hardly contain her excitement, evident by the way she ran up and hugged both of them, asking if they were back together yet.
They didn't tell her they were, but they didn't say they weren't either, they told her they were going home to talk about things.
But not before dropping her off at school.
This time, there was absolutely no fight whatsoever getting the little girl to go to school. She happily jumped in Robert's car, she got even happier when Andy got in the passenger seat.
The drive to Luna's school was quick, since it was only a few blocks away from the station. She hugged both of her parents goodbye, then ran into her classroom, hanging her backpack up and going to play with her friends.
Andy and Robert walked out of the school, hand in hand. It was a small, domestic gesture that seemed to mean so much to them. Even when they couldn't express their feelings verbally, physically it was easy.
They got back in the car and drove to Robert's place. A comfortable silence filled the air around them, their hands still intertwined.
When they walked inside, Andy noticed nothing had changed, she didn't really know what she expected, it had only been a little over a month since they'd been apart, she didn't expect him to change his entire house in that time.
But she also didn't expect for there to still be pictures of the three of them still littering the picture frames on the walls. She was sure he'd take them down the second she left, but no, they were all still there.
All three of them had smiles on their faces, not a care in the world.
Hopefully they could get back to that.
"Andy, hey," She heard Robert bringing her out of her thoughts. "You okay?"
"Yeah," She smiled. "I'm okay, just feels good to be back here. I missed it."
He walked over and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her head down to his chest. Andy let out a content sigh, her arms wrapping around him.
They just stayed they for a few minutes, reveling in the feeling of being in each other's arms.
"I missed having you here, seemed lonely without you." Robert said, placing a kiss on the top of her head.
