Warriors: A New Beginning

Prologue

Two she-kits are born in the forest, with only a mother to look after them.

"Moon!!! Come on, let's play!" Sun meowed to her sister.

"Go and play by yourself!" Moon yelled.

"Come on kits, we have to find a place to rest." Dawn said.

"But Mommy! Moon won't get up!" Sun argued.

"Then I will wake her." Sun watched as her mother nudged Moon awake.

"Mommy! I'm still sleepy!" Dawn sighed as Moon still lay on the grass sleeping.

"Moon! Get up this instant!" Sun had never seen her mother this mad, ever.

"Fine! Just give me space!" After Moon had gotten up, the three cats walked together in search for a home. But it hadn't been even a moment when Sun heard a rustling in the bushes nearby.

"Mommy! There's something in those bushes, I can hear it!" As Moon also listened to what Sun had said, she leaned in closer to Dawn.

"Oh no, it's a fox! Sun, Moon, both of you, run!" Their mother yowled. When she saw that they were not running, Sun could smell the fear scent on her mother. "Please, you have to run, I will kill it!" Moon nodded, and whispered to Sun that they had to listen to their mother. They watched with big eyes as Dawn fought off the fox, to save them. She was risking her life. Sun saw that the fox had her mother in its teeth at her throat, and she was scared.

"No!" She wailed as she saw the fox make the killing bite. After the fox had ran off, Sun and Moon ran out of the bush.

"M-Mommy?" Moon mewed hopefully.

Sun shook her head. "I think she's dead."

Just then they heard two cats appear. "What happened?" One of them asked. "I'm not sure, Whitefeather. Let's ask them."

"We were attacked by a fox, and our mother, I think she's dead..." Sun explained sadly.

Whitefeather looked at the tom. "Stormblaze, don't you think we should take them in?" Stormblaze nodded. "They won't live out here all by themselves." He glanced at Sun and Moon.

"Kits, say goodbye to your mother, and follow us. We will bring you to a place that is safe." Sun and Moon ran off towards their mother and licked her cheek. "Bye Mommy. We hope you are happy now where you are." Sun meowed. Moon said her goodbyes, too, then followed Whitefeather and Stormblaze to wherever they were taking them.

"Well, first of all..." Whitefeather started. "What are your names?"

Sun beat Moon to it. "I'm Sun." Then she flicked her small tail at Moon, signaling her to say her name.

"And I'm her sister, Moon." Moon mewed.

Stormblaze paused for a second. "Wait, your names are Sun and Moon?" He asked. Sun thought this was weird because she and her sister were just kits like any other.

"Yes, our Mother gave us those names." Sun said.

"Alright, well, we have to get these kits to the Clan!" Stormblaze howled. Clan? Me and Moon are going to live in a Clan? Sun thought.

Well, anyway, I hope you like this story so far. This is my first time writing my own story so I'm sorry if it's not as good as some other books you've read. I know it is a little different from what the summary says, but I'll try to make it even better! Chapter 1 will probably be coming soon. Bye!
