Chapter 10

"Sunrise...you didn't have to do that." Moonshadow mewed sadly.

"Stop. Don't talk about that. I did what I did because I wanted to." Sunrise said.

"Do you think ThunderClan misses us?"

"No, they probably won't. Graystar probably hates me now, and I know you didn't kill Birchfur or Tealstripe."

Moonshadow nodded. "I've never killed a cat in my life!" Sunrise believed her. Moonshadow didn't seem like the type of cat to kill.

"Well, I'm going hunting. Dewpaw, stay here with Moonshadow."

"Yes, Sunrise." Sunrise hadn't hunted alone in a while. As she got closer to ThunderClan territory, she smelled a familiar cat.

Rowanfeather!

Sunrise hid in a bush. As she saw what was happening, it looked like Rowanfeather was trying to kill another cat. She couldn't recognize the scent at first, but then she saw the pelt.

Hollydapple! No!

Even if her friend didn't like her anymore, Sunrise had to help her. She quickly raced out of her hiding spot and jumped out at Rowanfeather.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" She screamed. "I'M NOT LETTING YOU KILL MY FRIEND!!" Sunrise got really angry. This cat, who she thought was her first friend, was now a murderer.

"What do mean, what am I doing?" He smirked. "You took my place as a warrior! You never should've even became one! I was born before you, and you still became a warrior moons before me. So now, for revenge, I'm killing all of your friends!"

Sunrise's heart lurched as she noticed Rowanfeather's pelt color. It was black!

"You killed them, didn't you?" She challenged. "You killed Birchfur and Tealstripe! YOU KILLED MY MENTOR!" Sunrise was not happy. She noticed that she distracted Rowanfeather from killing Hollydapple.

"Run, Hollydapple!" She warned before Rowanfeather could notice.

Hollydapple shook her head.

What? Does she want to die?

"Go home, Rowanfeather," Sunrise threatened. "Before I rip you to shreds."

Rowanfeather didn't back down. "Oh yeah? I'd love to see you try."

"GO!" Rowanfeather didn't look like he wanted to fight either. He ran back to camp. Hollydapple walked over to Sunrise.

"Thank you," She said.

Sunrise shook her head. "It was nothing. Why did you come out here?" She asked.

Tears fell slowly from Hollydapple's eyes. "He killed my sister, too."

Not Skyfeather!

"So I came out here looking for you. I can't bear to live in a place where my littermate is gone and I have no friends."

Sunrise nodded. "Come on. I'll show you where the others are. Sunrise led Hollydapple to where Moonshadow and Dewpaw were. "Guys, I have some interesting things to tell you." Sunrise meowed coldly.

"Hollydapple...you see, her sister died. But the most shocking thing is that Rowanfeather killed her, as well as Birchfur and Tealstripe."

Moonshadow and Dewpaw's eyes widened. "You killed him, then?" Moonshadow asked.

Sunrise replied calmly. "No."
