Warriors: A New Beginning

Chapter 4

Well, first off, thank you all for reading! I never expected 100 reads just in a few days! I really appreciate it. Second, for those of you who are going to keep reading, these next few chapters are gonna be pretty exciting! Yay!

Sunpaw awoke in her new nest to see the sun burning (I'm not sure if the dens have tops or not but whatever! XD) outside. She got to her paws and went to find her mentor.

"Tealstripe!" She meowed when she found him. 

"Yes, what is it Sunpaw?" He asked.

"Umm... I was just wondering if maybe we could do some training today?" 

"Oh, Sunpaw." Tealstripe murmured. "I'm actually going to show you our borders, we can't cross them or else we wouldn't be in our territory anymore. But, if we have time, we can practice some moves. Deal?"

"Okay!" Sunpaw was getting really anxious. "Can we go now, can we please?" She begged.

"Of course." Sunpaw's mentor led her out into the forest while she bounced on after him. "Wow, you've got a lot of energy in those paws today, don't you?" Tealstripe asked, amused.

Sunpaw shook her head. "I'm always like this." She laughed.

Tealstripe purred. "Well, here's the RiverClan border." He snorted. "No cat sees those fish-faces out of the water. But in case they attack, I'll be here to help you."

That's the second time he's said that to me! Sunpaw thought.

"Okay! Cool. What about WindClan and ShadowClan?" She asked."

Tealstripe turned his head. "ShadowClan is across the Thunderpath, and WindClan live on the moor."

Sunpaw nodded. "Now can we practice some battle-" But her sentence was cut off by a shrill cry.

Oh no! That was Moonpaw!

"Tealstripe! That's my sister! We have to help!" Sunpaw warned.

"But you don't even know any moves yet-" Her mentor said.

She growled softly. "I know enough." (Or do you??) Then she ran to where she heard Moonpaw's loud cry. Then Sunpaw spotted her sister.

"Moonpaw!" She howled. "No! I can't do it, I can't!" Moonpaw still seemed really afraid.

"It's a fox!" Pinkheart replied.

Suddenly unhappy memories went back into Sunpaw's mind. "Run! I'll kill it!" The sound of her mother's voice rang over and over again.

But I have to help. She thought. For Mommy, and for my sister.

Taking a deep breath, Sunpaw lunged at the fox and it tried to take a bite at her. But she was too fast. Sunpaw jumped onto the orange fur on its back but it threw her off. She landed with a thud in front of a tree.

Get up, Sunpaw! You have to save your sister! Sunpaw thought to herself.

Using all her strength, she jumped up onto all fours. Again, she ran towards the fox at a really fast speed.

I can do this! But this time, she aimed at the fox's throat. Remembering what that fox did to her mother, she took the killing bite. The scrap of fur fell to the ground, Sunpaw doing the same.

If I die, at least I saved Moonpaw.

After she closed her eyes, Sunpaw heard her mentor yowl, "Hurry! We need to get Silverleaf!" Then her vision blacked out.

Sorry guys! I know this is a really short chapter but I hope you liked it. Also I'm sorry for kinda leaving you on a cliffhanger. What do you think will happen to Sunpaw? Will she die? If she doesn't, will Tealstripe and Graystar punish her? Find out in Chapter 5!
