RIP Angel

"Where is he?" Virtue said, looking around at the dark trees. "Dream's been gone for an entire day now; where did he go?"

It was nighttime, and Fortitude, Valor, Virtue, Colin, and Piper were looking for Dream. Colin was the last one who'd seen him, but he'd been gone for an entire day; he could be anywhere.

"I know that he's... burying Angel but does he really have to take that long?" Valor asked. "It's nearly midnight."

Virtue heard something crack to the right of them. "Who's there? Dream?"

She moved aside a bush and found Dream kneeling in front of a freshly dug grave. He had his hand on the gravestone, and when she shined a light on it, she could see the stone is engraved: Here lies Angel, a Starling worthy of her name. Rest in Peace, and may you find your own Angel in the Afterglow.

Dream pulled his hand away, looking at the grave again before looking at the group.

"Did you really come all the way out here for me?" He asked though Virtue can hear the sadness in his voice. "I'm not a child, you know?"

Valour knelt beside Dream, looking at the grave. She flipped down her visor and rested her hand on the gravestone.

"Goodbye, sister." She whispered. A tear fell from her mahogany-coloured eyes.

Dream clasped a hand on her shoulder, his own tear falling down his face.

Fortitude knelt as well, paying his respects. Valour, for the first time in a long time, buried her head into her brother's head.

Virtue wrapped her arms around Dream, knowing he was hurt the most out of all of them. The dream didn't reply, not even flipping down his visor, but Virtue knew he was crying-- hard.

Colin and Piper watched rather awkwardly from the shadows, not wanting to ruin the moment. Colin sighed; he knew how it felt to lose someone. Piper as well.

Dream looked at them. Piper had a tear running down her face, at the Myrmidons and her own memories. Colin's usual dead expression was on his face.

"Come on." Dream said softly. "Let's give Angel some time to herself."

"Alright," Valour said. She gave one last, long look at the grave and stood up, brushing herself off Fortitude. Dream detached Virtue from him and pulled Fortitude up. They together started back to the base, Dream at the rear.

Piper saw Dream give on last, long look, before suddenly remembering something.

Stretching out his hands, Piper saw a small, beautiful flower grow in his hands, and he planted it on a spot right before the headstone.

He quickly returned to the others as if nothing happened.

The campfires were starting when the Myrmidons along with Colin and Piper appeared from the woods. Valour, Fortitude, and Virtue went back to sleep while Dream decided to stay for tonight.

"Hey, Piper," Phil said. "You think you're up for tonight? Leona lost her voice today, and I think a solo will be fine."

"Ok," Piper said. "Let me get ready."

Piper finished, panting. The crowd before her cheered, reminding her of the same night 5 years ago when she and Nicholas sang at the show. Was that really half a decade ago? It felt like a month.

She sat down with the other SD as the night dragged on.
