Fortitude led them to the tunnel; a small, tiny space two people wide led into a river. It was a dark, circular shape full, with water flowing out.
"This is it." He said. "This is the tunnel."
"Doesn't seem that bad-" Hector was interrupted by a buzz in the air.
"Get down!" Colin said, pushing him into the undergrowth as a drone sped by. "That would have been it for us." He said. "Come on; get in." He slipped into the darkness.
It was the afternoon; the tunnel would take them about 4 hours for them to come out on the other side, which by then would be nighttime. The plan was simple; they'd sabotage the hangar and get the data, disable all motion sensors and drones, and signal for the rest of the army to come. Easier said than done.
Andrew, the Myrmidons, Piper, Hector, Beckett, and Austin followed. Their glow illuminated the tight space.
Dream gripped his rifle tightly, carefully stepping around the puddles and pointing the gun at anything that made a noise.
"It's alright, dude." Fortitude said. "I've been here many times before; nothing dangerOUS." He screamed as something lunged out of the darkness, biting his leg. Dream took one look at it and shot it in the head.
"And croc; it must've swam in here." He said. "Won't cause any damage to us but the rest of you need to move back; these things have 1678 kg of bite force. Enough to snap bone. Get up dude." He pulled Fortitude up. "Stop being a baby; I told you it's dangerous."
"I didn't expect a full grown croc to just lung at me." Fortitude said. "That was scary."
"Heh." Valor snorted, walking away.
Another lunged at her, only to a plasma blade driven through its skull.
"Come on everyone." Valor said. "I'll take the front."
Colin peeked his head out into the hangar. Planes of different sizes were covered in cloth tarps to prevent any rusting. There weren't many people there, considering it's nighttime.
He told the others to wait where they were and let him take care of everything.
Climbing out of the vent, he dove for the nearest cover; a large cargo plane the size of a warbot. One by one, he picked off the guards there, dragging them under the tarps.
"Come up; the coast is clear." Colin said, pulling Piper up first.
Dream climbed up next, looking around cautiously.
"Whew..." He said. "The door is this way." He said, pointing to a heavy steel door with a small pad on the side. He pressed his wrist to the pad. "Please work... please Tony forget to remove our accesses..."
The door opened.
"Yes." He said. "Come on."
The tunnels were similar to the outpost on that island... the one where Nicholas was captured and tortured. Thinking of that brought tears to Piper's eyes. Colin didn't look any better.
Beckett stayed behind to plant the bombs while the others went for the control rooms, avoiding any guards (Or killing them either is fine).
They headed towards the elevators, which they assumed were the only way down. The control room was on the deepest part of the base, and the data room only a level above. The elevators would take them there.
A footstep came from around the corner, alerting everyone to his or her presence.
Colin readied his blade, and when the slim, small figure for a sentry came, he stabbed upwards right towards the chest.
Somehow, she caught it. "Colin!" Diana's voice whispered. "It's me."
"What are you doing here!??!" Colin asked sternly. "How did you-"
"I didn't want to miss out on the mission so I followed you guys..." Diana admitted.
"Diana..." Colin snarled.
"We can't send her back now." Dream said. "She'll have to come with us."
"Fine; Piper, take care of your cousin-in-law." Colin said, turning away. Given the recent history of him and Diana, it probably wasn't because she didn't want to miss out on the action. "Come on."
They faced barely any sentries on the rest of the way to the elevators, though one did get close to sounding the alarms if not for Diana.
"Guess I owe you." Colin grumbled before stepping into the elevator.
Hector pulled up a 3D diagram of the place. "Sooooooo... bad news. We didn't consider the fact that this elevator only goes half-way; it stops at the prison block. The second elevator is all the way at the other side..."
"Well shit." Andrew said. "Beckett is still up there though..."
"He'll make it; the rendezvous isn't too far." Piper said. "Come on; we still have things to do." she said as the elevator descended.
Dream and the others volunteered to go first, mainly because they were the only ones with FREAKING CAMALAGABLE ARMOUR WHAT THE HECK I WANT THOSE.
They returned a bit later, gesturing to them that the coast is clear-- for now.
"Come on." Dream said. "We don't have much time."
They rushed through the prison cells, but they couldn't help but stop at those held hostage. Everyone in there were thin, starving, and some even had marks on them from torture sessions. They didn't even have the energy to look up at the group.
"We need to get them out." Andrew said.
"But we can't open the doors without sounding an alarm." Dream said. "Hector; Disable them."
"Already doing it." He said, furious typing. "Got it."
Dream held his wrist to every keypad, and Andrew escorted them out.
"Everyone, be quiet! We're here to help." Piper said as she sensed their discomfort around the Myrmidons. "Andrew, can you get them back to the tunnel?"
"Will do; come on everyone." Andrew said, gesturing to the door. "And be careful."
Dream opened the last cell; No... more of a safe. It looked like one of those safes from banks instead made from way more stronger materials. Whatever was in there, it's dangerous to everyone. Or to the Skylars.
"Prepare yourselves; we haven't even seen what's inside this cell yet." Virtue said.
The door rotated as it swung open, revealing 2 Starlings; 2 familiar ones. EXTREMELY FAMILIAR
"Girls?" Lady's Stella's voice asked.
