Dream exited to the conference room, where Virtue, Fortitude and Valor were waiting for him.
"Ahh, Dream- Myrmidon, front-line infantry, welcome." Apollon, the general of the base he was at, addressed him as he came into her sights. "Now now. The entirety of Team Mercy is here, right?"
"Right." Dream said. "We're all here."
"I thought there were 5 of them..." one of the captains said.
"Unfortunately, Angel, the fifth one, attempted to desert her post," Apollon said. "Dream and I hunted her down. She is... disposed of by now. Right, Dream?"
"Yes ma'am." Dream said, though there was a small unnoticeable doubt in his voice. Apollon didn't catch that.
Virtue glanced at Dream, who avoided her gaze.
"But today isn't about moping over our losses," Apollon said. "Team Nightstalker." She looked to a squad of 5 on the other side of the room. "You're needed in an operation down south; a group of prisoners escaped; we need to clean up the mess before they reach the Rebellion. Copy?"
"Copy." The leader of the team said.
"Team Mercy; the Counsel has directly said to get you to attack one of the Rebellion's supply trains; cripple their soldiers and take back prisoners for questioning. Copy?"
"Copy Apollon." Virtue said. "But if it involves-"
"Yes yes, no torture. This is exactly why you're called Team Mercy. Now-"
"With all due respect ma'am," Fortitude said. "In the chain of command, we are only outranked by the Counsel. So technically, we outrank everyone in this room. We'll only follow what the counsel says, not what you tell us to do."
"Fortitude." Valour chided. "Don't be rude."
Valour and Fortitude, the only twins in the Myrmidons. From what they can hear, the two worked best together and were allowed to keep certain memories of each other for more effectiveness in battle.
"I know..." Apollon said. "Now; both teams, get in your suits. Time to roll out."
Colin sat at the leader's seat, eating his dinner when he was called to the conference room. Standing up, he slipped back on his wrist blades; the Brotherhood had given them back after the war started.
Colin entered the conference tent, where the others were already waiting. Sage, Nico, Libby, Ganymede, Tessa, Andrew, Adora, Leona, Scott, Scarlet, Orrin, Cassie, Percy, Gemma, Peter and the others stood by the holo-table.
"Colin." Piper, who surprisingly showed up today, said. "You're here."
"Piper," Colin said. "Yeah. I'm here."
"Grayson," Andrew asked. "Why are we here?"
"We've found some useful information." Greyson and Ethan said. "Our scouts found plans for an attack on one of our supply lines."
"Then move it!" Scarlet said. "Is it that important?"
"No, but yes," Adonis said. "We discovered who's attacking. A team of Myrmidons."
"What are you proposing?" Austin asked.
"The ones attacking are Team Mercy," Ethan said. "They are by far the highest-ranked team, even by Myrmidon standards. I propose we lure them-"
"And capture them." Colin finished, looking intently at the map. "To extract some information. Right?"
"Exactly," Grayson said. "We can get everything here. Team Mercy has info on everything the Skylars ever had. It'll be difficult to get them, but it is possible."
"Who's in the team of five?" Scott asked.
"They only have four; one deserted and was killed," Greyson explained. "We don't have their real names; only code names. But they're Virtue, twins Fortitude and Valor, and Dream."
"Dream." The Assassin representative, Natalie, snarled. "He's that one that took down our second base of operations. He killed hundreds in that battle."
The dream was a mysterious figure in the Resistance; no one's seen his face, nor been in his presence and come out alive; the most deadly Myrmidon by far. He was skilled in both hand-to-hand combat and wish energy manipulation.
Half a month ago, several shadows appeared, wreaking one of the Brotherhood's most important bases. The enigmatic figures had burned everything to the ground, killing everyone but two in the base, and destroyed the data stored there. The survivors tell of a tall, armour-clad figure killing and cutting through their ranks.
"So plan to catch Mercy is a go?" Greyson asked.
"Yeah. Let's get that son of a bitch." Colin said.
