I stared at Rapture as he held Felisha down to the couch. Her screams of pain, were loud, and ear piercing. The venom coursing through her body was causing her pain, Jordan looked back at Felisha, and then looked away as he helped Carrie hold Sam down to the chair she was on. I looked away from Felisha, and headed into the kitchen.
I leaned over the kitchen sink, and closed my eyes, trying to block out the screaming coming from the kitchen. Did I do this exact same thing? Did I scream when I was turned. I leaned my head over the sink more, and allowed whatever was in my stomach to come out. I groaned when the stench of the stomach acid hit my nose. I pulled away from the sink, and then leaned against the other counter. I slid down to the floor, and then rested my head against the cupboards.
The screaming was still pretty loud, and I had to get out of the house before it drove me nuts. Walking back into the living room where the front door was, I exited the house, signalling to Rapture that I was going out. Once outside of the house, the actually screaming had gone slightly quiet. I rested against the door for a moment, before heading out towards the city.
The city was filled with nightlife, and it may have been loud, but it wasn't as loud as the screaming was. I wandered around the downtown area, with my hands stuffed in my pockets. Although the downtown area reeked of cigarette smoke, urine, and garbage, it was slightly calming. I stared down at the bracelet around my wrist, and the empty vial attached to it. It was suppose to be so that I could have a bond with a child of my choice that was to be mine. Of course Rapture had received one to, so that we could both be bonded with the child.
I looked around at all of the mother's and father's taking their children into family friendly restaurants. I sighed, and then found a bench to sit down on. I stared at a family towards a child, that seemed to not want to go where his mother was going. I had to choose who the so called child of both, Rapture and I. I had a choice in which child it was going to be. I looked around at any other children, but none of them jumped out at me. I stood up from my spot on the bench, and then kept walking taking a chance to see if there was any other kids that might catch my interest.
It wasn't until I hit a street full of houses that I spotted a child that caught my attention. It was a little girl, dressed in a black dress that was tattered on the bottom. She had bat wings on her back, and was running about the front yard with her arms out. I watched in amusement as she was making screeching noises like a bat. The girl stopped when she saw me, and tilted her head to the side. She stared at me curiously, and then walked towards the front fence.
"You have pretty red eyes Mister." She spoke softly, staring into my eyes.
I smiled. "You think so?" I asked.
"Very pretty, They make me think of Vampires eyes."
"Really?"
I stepped towards the fence, and then crouched down to her level. The girl touched my face, and smiled as she pulled my lips up into a smile. She looked at my teeth, and then placed one of her index fingers beneath my fangs. I looked at her, and studied her face. This was the one that I wanted to be my child.
I smiled at the girl one last time, and then stood up. "Alright, I gotta go.." Looking down at the girl, I almost couldn't pull myself away from her. "Maybe I'll see you another time.."
The girl smiled, and then ran off towards the house. I watched her enter the house before I walked off, heading back to the coven house. By the time I reached the front door, I found myself questioning if I should have picked up the child and took her away with me. Smacking the side of my head, I remembered that I need to talk to Rapture about this first. I pushed open the door, and stepped in to the house, looking around. Sam was on the floor, her back resting against the chair she was on earlier, her eyes closed.
I heard voices come from the kitchen, mostly Rapture, and Carrie since Jordan was a rather quiet man. I entered the kitchen, and then walked up to Rapture. Rapture looked towards me, and then pulled me into his lap. Rapture turned back to Carrie.
"Look, I've had enough, we can't stay here any more than we already have. We have Jinx, that means we need to leave."
"After all that we've built here? A connection with the morgue for blood, and a rather nice home."
"Don't argue with me Carrie."
"Come on Rapture, Don't pull this crap on us."
"CARRIE, WE WENT OVER THIS!" Rapture raised his voice, slamming his hand down on the table.
I turned in Rapture's lap, and leaned toward him. Hovering my chin just above his shoulder, I whispered in his ear.
"I found the one I want to be our Child."
Rapture froze when he heard my words. Carrie frowned when she saw the look on Rapture's face. Rapture picked me up as he stood up from the chair, sitting me down on the chair, Rapture walked over to Carrie.
"You better find yourself lucky, since we apparently must wait until Jinx brings home our child."
"Wait... He found a child already?! How is that possible? No vampire had ever found a child so quickly."
"You question JInx's choice?!" Rature raised his voice again.
"No, I don't.. It's just strange." Rapture snarled slightly, and then walked off towards the living room. "Jinx... You need to go get that child.. Tonight... The rest of us will begin packing."
I stood up from the Chair. "Tonight?!" I asked, wide eyed.
"Yes..." Rapture turned towards me. "Tonight."
**********
I found my way back to the house, that belonged to the parents of the girl, and I jumped over the fence delicately. The house was entirely on one level, and it made it easy to locate the little girl's room. The bedroom light was on, and the girl was sitting on her bed playing with her dolls. I knocked on the window lightly, getting the girl's attention. The girl stood up from her bed, and walked over to the window, pushing it open.
"You're back, mysterious one."
"I am... I got a question for you."
"Oh goody!"
"You like vampires, right?"
"Of course!"
"You'd you like to live with vampires?" I asked.
"Does that mean with you mysterious one?"
"Yes, that does."
"Of course I would!"
I smiled, and then reached out, pulling the girl from her bedroom. "This makes you my daughter now, ok?"
"Ok!"
