"GET UP YOU'RE LATE" My mother pounded on the bedroom door.

I jumped, and sat up in bed. I looked towards my alarm clock, and groaned. It was 9 o'clock am, and I was going late for school.

"Shit.." I climbed out bed.

I grabbed the first pair of clothes I saw, and then pulled them on. I grabbed a hoodie, and then flew out of my bedroom, and down the stairs to the door, where my bag sat behind it. I snagged my back up off the floor, and then ran from the house. My mother watched from the kitchen window as I booked it down the road towards the school. The wind smacked at my face, the coldness of it, piercing my face creating a sharp pain in my face. I tripped over my own feet, and stumbled, but caught myself, and continued running.

I turned around the corner, and almost ditched into some bushes. The cross around my neck, finally threw itself over my shoulder. I ran into the school parking lot, dodging a couple of moving cars, and jumping over cement blockades. I slowed down as I made it to the doors. My hair was a mess as I didn't have to to brush it, so I simply ran my fingers through it. I pulled open the door, and walked in. I entered the office, and then went over to sign myself in. The secretary who looked basically looked like an old crone, and was very strict, looked over the rim of her glasses at me.

"Mr. Raines... That's the third time you've been late, one more time, and I'm going to have to give you detention."

I put down the pen I used to sign myself in, and looked at her shifting my bag on my shoulder.

"Don't worry Mrs. Garnet, it won't happen again."

"It better not."

Mrs. Garnet glared at me, and then went back to her work. I exited the office, and then walked off to my class. I rubbed the back of my neck, as I shuffled down the hallway. I stopped by my locker, and gathered my stuff for class, which was just by my locker. I opened my locker, and my teacher popped his out of the door.

"Accidentally slept in again Jinx?" Mr. Morrow asked.

"Yeah, Mrs. Garnet was nagging on me saying if I was late again, I'd get detention." Mr. Morrow raised his eyebrow.

"Well, if you get detention I'll be the one to "watch" over you."

"That would be awesome." I said, as I closed my locker.

"Of course, we'd enjoy ourselves, bored games, and candy." Mr. Morrow winked at me.

I smiled at him, and then walked over, and entered class. I looked at everybody who had their heads down working on a test. I smacked my forehead with the palm of my hand. Mr. Morrow looked over at me, and then sat down at his desk.

"Don't worry about it, I knew you forgot, so you can come sit with me, you can do the test tomorrow."

I nodded. "Thank you."

"No problem."

Mr. Morrow was like the only teacher that liked me, but then he liked my view on things. Such as how I thought that we could easily fix our problem of jails by using criminals as a source of food. It certainly would fix our problem of not finding enough food, but then why would we need to when we took food from poor countries. I walked over to Mr. Morrow's desk, and pulled a chair. He hit play on a video he was watching. I looked over and noticed that he was watching one of my favourite shows. Vampires in England. I scooted closer, and watched with him.

"What episode?" I asked.

"Gargoyles in London."

I smiled. "That's the best episode!"
