"I'll come pick you up by 6." I looked at Alison through the rear-view mirror, only to watch her crease her brows together. Obviously she wouldn't want that. However she nodded her head, even though it was obvious she didn't sit quite well with the curfew.
Yes, a 22 year old grown ass woman followed curfews laid out by yours truly
The Honda civic finally came to a stop in front of the City Mall. "And hey, don't be late, like the last time." I told her, switching the ignition off. Again all that came was a reluctant nod.
I just rested my arm over the window frame as she quickly slipped out of the seatbelt, climbing out of the ride as clumsily as she could.
Surprisingly enough, our dates were around the same time. Perhaps the very reason I was being her Uber for the day. I was supposed to be staring into Camila's eyes at some mysterious cafe right now. But no. . . I am supposed to be late.
Thanks to the love of my life. . .
"I think you forgot something." I waved the movie tickets out of the window, just as she was about to turn about. A groan escaped her lips as she hastily stole them back, stuffing them in her back pocket.
"Jesus, my nerves will get me screwed some day."
"I am sure your date won't mind that." I commented with an overly-sweet smile directed towards her. After all the sweet nothings this girl had brewed about Joe, I came to the conclusion he could be trusted. Not much, but yeah, to a certain extent.
After all his choice of their movie-date was rom-com
For real
"Selena" She halted her not-so-elegant movements for a moment.
"Yup"
"Don't forget to ring your mum after your coffee. She hasn't heard from you in a while so. And hey, don't make a mess of yourself. We can't have you sitting shit-frozen in front of Cammie. . . " And here she went. I was somewhat prepared for everything-- her being my life-guide a few minutes before I had to face my date.
I was even pretty sure she had talked all about it with Mom this time. I could smell the tone of mom's voice with the way her lips moved all around.
Sniff sniff
". . . And don't scare away your date this time." I simply kept nodding, shrugging to myself since I knew I was gonna be a gay mess anyways.
The orders yet to come were ruined by the buzz that came out of her pocket. She quickly pulled out her phone, cursing under her breath while I relaxed in my skin. "Seems like he's already here. I better shoot!"
I turned the ignition on just as she swirled around in her boots, "Don't be an ass with Camilla, Leni!"
And like that did she disappear into the crowd standing around the place.
"I am NEVER an ass." I grumbled all to my myself, pouting as the car rolled off the pavement. It might have been possible that I hadn't the best streak when it came to relationships but come on. . .
It isn't exactly my fault if people can't handle all of this coolness, now is it?
A fifteen minute drive and mindless talks with myself landed me to my very destination. I slowed down to a mere snail-drive and decided to give the place a once over.
It seemed like another local cafeteria hub, perhaps a bit musty with a few classy chairs arranged outside. I was already running late, but seeing as the parking lot was still a few blocks away, I couldn't really help my situation much.
