"So what are you planning for your birthday?" Luke asked.

We were waiting at the school's parking lot for Sumeya to finish with the dance team.

" It's in three months" I deadpanned.

"Yes I know, but I'm moving to the states soon," he says scratching the back of his neck.

"And you want to use my birthday as an excuse to ask Suma out and organize a group hang out, it's lame, and you know I don't celebrate my birthday," I tell him looking away.

Maybe this year will be different.

I thought to myself.

"Why not though? you're like the princess of this city," he asked me looking around the parking lot.

"I'm no princess," I say under my breath.

At school, the people knew Emilio Morelli was rich and he practically owned this city, but they had no idea of the things going on inside his business, the underground, there are rumors but nothing tangible to be considered a threat to the organization, when they call me princess they referred to me being the daughter of a rich man, sometimes I wonder what it feels like to be like them, clueless.

It must be nice, or maybe boring.

I thought to myself, Sumeya comes out of the school entrance walking with her dance team, I could see from where I stood she wasn't ok, she walked like she was carrying the weight of the whole world on her shoulders, I leave luke standing by his motorcycle and walked toward Sumeya, she sees me and opens her arms for a hug.

"Sorellina" she kissed my forehead before turning me around and we walk back toward Luke.

"He wants to ask you out," I tell her.

"Isn't he leaving for the US?" she asks as we get closer.

"Don't tell me you want him too" my eyes widen.

"No little miss nosy, but it wouldn't hurt gaining some experience, I'm 16 haven't been kissed by a guy, but I've killed 3 men, how messed up is that?" She laughs, but I don't.

"Suma, Are you alright, you never talked about it," I asked stopping to face her.

"Don't worry, I am getting better, your mom has been helping me, I understand how this world works now, next time I'll be ready, that day I hesitated, I was only willing to fight and disarm not kill, but I saw that I was going to lose you if I don't grow a pair of tits and use my skill, I love you, Luna, you are my family and I would pull that trigger again if it comes down to making sure you're safe again, I promise I'm alright so don't even think about blaming yourself alright" she explained reading my emotions and calling me out in the process.

I nod my head and throw myself at her hugging her tightly.

"Woah, what happened to Luna, why is she upset?" Luke sounded closer to us.

"Oh, I just told her, I was going to ask you out, she doesn't like you very much" Sumeya lied whispering the last part.

I snorted still pressed against her, she tries to push me away but I stayed put and looked up to glare at her.

"Let go of me you big baby" she scowls at me, but I shake my head scowling back.

Luke chuckled nervously, and I rolled my eyes.

"You want to ask me out, like on a date?" He asks in disbelief.

Sumeya smirked at his reaction.
