Harry tossed and turned in bed all night. He couldn't stop thinking about Malfoy. He liked the way his breath felt against his ear in Potions, how he cared for Harry's injured hand and how he held Harry's wrist so tightly it felt like the blood had stopped flowing.
Harry had already admitted to himself that he had a crush on Malfoy, but he wasn't ready to tell anyone, and didn't think he ever would. How would people react if a Potter and a Malfoy got together? Or even accept the fact that Harry was gay? As well as that, they were from opposite houses, so that was also supposed to be bad. But in Harry's mind, he didn't see the reason for it to be like that. It was just a house after all.
He looked at his now scarred hand. It was better than last night. Malfoy had really done a good job and it looked like he really cared for Harry.
"Morning, mate," Ron said as he woke up.
Harry was startled. He checked his watch and saw that it was seven in the morning. How long was he up for last night?
"Morning, Ron," he replied sheepishly.
Harry got out of bed and got dressed. Since it was a Saturday, and he had this sudden urge to impress someone, he got out a pair of black jeans that were slightly too long for him, so he rolled the cuffs up, and one of his only well-fitted shirts. He was looking for a belt when Ron's voice startled him again.
"Blimey, Harry. You're looking good. And you're up early. On a Saturday."
Harry felt his cheeks turning red, so he looked away. Ron couldn't know that he was trying to impress Malfoy.
"I'll see you at breakfast then," he muttered awkwardly before leaving.
At the Gryffindor table, Harry grabbed a piece of egg omelet and a glass of pumpkin juice. He was still nervous about the Triwizard Tournament, but he didn't want to get scolded by Hermione again. She smiled when she saw him.
"Hi, Harry. Looks like you have an appetite today."
"I guess," he replied.
Suddenly, he felt someone's eyes on him. He turned around and his eyes locked with a pair of silver ones. He gave Malfoy a warm smile before turning back to eat.
Hermione looked at him like she had just seen him kiss a frog.
"Did you just smile at Malfoy?" she asked.
Harry tried to think of a good lie.
"I was smirking, not smiling."
Hermione didn't seem to believe him, but didn't take the subject further, since she knew that the Triwizarding Tournament was only four weeks away.
Harry finished and got out of the Great Hall. He walked to the library and started looking for a book that he needed for Transfiguration. As he browsed the shelves, he saw a familiar red head pass by.
"Hey, Ginny."
Ginny Weasley turned around and smiled when she saw him.
"Hi, Harry. Fancy seeing you here."
He raised an eyebrow.
"I mean, you're always here with Hermione. Otherwise I never see you."
He chuckled.
"I just don't come here often, I guess."
Ginny laughed a little too loudly, receiving a glare from Madam Pince.
"Anyway," she said, "so what are you doing here?"
"Looking for a Transfiguration book. You?"
"Looking for a book to read. I was bored."
Suddenly, Ginny glared at him.
"What's wrong, Ginny? Did I do something?" he asked.
"Not you. Him. He keeps looking at you. It's so creepy."
Harry turned around to see Malfoy looking at Ginny with an angry look, but smirked at Harry as he walked up to him.
"Hello, Potter. Fancy seeing you here."
"That's exactly what Ginny said."
"At least I call you by your first name," Ginny replied, eyeing Malfoy with suspicion.
"I could call him by his first name too," Malfoy said. Harry quickly nudged his hip, signaling for him to shut up.
"Looks like I don't have anything to do here. Bye Weasley. Bye Potter."
Ginny looked confused as Malfoy walked away.
"What just happened? Was he actually being nice to you?"
"I think do. Really weird, huh?" Harry replied quickly, trying not to raise Ginny's suspicion, "I found the book!"
He grabbed the book off the opposite shelf and quickly headed out of the library.
At night, Harry went to sleep in the same clothes he changed into in the morning, but covered himself with the duvet to avoid any suspicion. Once he was sure that everyone was fast asleep, he grabbed his invisibility cloak and hurried to the courtyard, where Malfoy would be showing him something.
He walked to the Black Lake and scanned the area for a platinum blonde head. Instead, he almost jumped when he felt a hand touch his shoulder.
Malfoy turned him around to face him.
"Good evening, Potter."
"Good evening, Malfoy." Harry smiled. "So what is it that you wanted to show me?"
"I wanted to show you something?" Malfoy had a confused look on his face.
"Last night when you healed my hand, I wanted to repay you and you said to meet you here-"
"Oh yes. I did want to show you something."
Malfoy looked extremely nervous. He fiddled with his hands as he struggled to get the words out as he spoke.
"Listen, Potter. I-I wanted to show y-you something that I-I have been keeping a-a secret for a-almost a year now. I d-don't know h-how to say this."
"Just say it then."
"B-but I don't know w-what your reaction will b-be."
Harry raised an eyebrow.
"I bloody like you, Potter!" Malfoy blurted out.
Harry was too shocked to speak. He didn't even know if he had heard Malfoy correctly.
"What did you just say?"
"I said that I like you." Malfoy sighed.
Harry didn't know what to say. He could feel the butterflies in his stomach swirling around uncontrollably. He shifted a little closer.
"It's okay if you don't feel the same. I completely under-"
Harry grabbed Malfoy from his shirt collar and pulled him to his face until their lips touched, closing the space between them. Malfoy wrapped his arms around Harry's waist as Harry wrapped his hands around Malfoy's neck. This was it. This was what Harry was feeling. It felt so good, so passionate, so right.
When they let go, Harry and Malfoy smiled at each other before Malfoy pulled him into a deep hug.
"I like you too, Malfoy," Harry muttered into Malfoy's chest.
He could feel Malfoy hold him closer as he wrapped his arms around the Gryffindor. They didn't want to let go.
And they didn't want anyone to ever find out about this either.
Yeeeeesss🥳🥳they confessed!!! Too soon? Idk. But any who, just to warn everyone, I have a plot twist coming up. So dont be surprised if something shocking happens. Bbbbbbaaaaaaaiiiiiiii!
