Draco opened his eyes and turned on his side in his bed. He couldn't sleep. His mind was full of thoughts without Harry, and it just made his heart ache to the point where it felt like it would explode. Blaise had noticed how he wasn't eating during lunch or dinner, but Draco couldn't bring himself to tell his friend the truth. And, what made it worse, Pansy couldn't take a hint that he wasn't interested in her. Her shrills and how she wrapped herself around him were insufferable.

Draco sat up in bed and looked out the window. The Christmas holidays would start after the first task, that meant he would be seeing his father soon. Draco dreaded the visit and how his father would probably try to convince him to do something dark, or else he would put the Imperius curse on him. It wouldn't be the first time he did that. Draco refused almost every time.

He got out of his bed and sat on the floor, his chin resting on the windowsill. Snow was falling in forms of snowflakes and it covered almost everything. To Draco, Hogwarts looked like an ice castle.

He didn't know how to break up with Harry but knew that if he didn't, Draco and Harry would be exposed. Who know how many people saw them curled up together under that tree in the courtyard. But since no one had said anything yet, Draco didn't worry too much. The only thing that he was worrying about the most was Harry.

Harry seemed to love Draco just as much as Draco loved him. Maybe even more. It would break his heart into pieces if they had to break up. But Draco was already suffering knowing that he had to tell Harry the truth. He just didn't know how or when.

Snape had given him a week to decide and it had been almost two days since then. Time was running out. Draco had to decide soon.

But he didn't want to. He didn't want to decide. He wanted to stay with Harry and not care about what his family thought. He didn't want to be like his father. He could change history of the Malfoys. He didn't have to become a Death Eater.

But Draco's father wouldn't allow it. Deep down, Draco was actually scared of him. He would curse his own son for not following in his footsteps and no one did anything to stop it. And no one would if Draco told anyone either. Not if the Dark Lord was around.

Actually, nobody knew if the Dark Lord was around or not. Everyone just thought he had moved on or something. Nobody knew that Voldemort hadn't returned yet.

"Yet," Draco muttered to himself.

He remembered the day as if it was yesterday. Peter Pettigrew walking into Malfoy Manor with a plan to bring Voldemort back, along with other Death Eaters. Draco didn't know all the details, but knew one thing: the plan would be taking place this year. His father hadn't said anything to him.

And Draco thought that it would be better off like that.

Draco picked with his food, not bothering to eat anything that Blaise served him.

"Come on, mate. Eat something," he said.

"No."

"Draco, you look pale. Paler than usual. Eat."

"Fine," Draco lied, trying to make it seem like he was eating.

"Draco! You're so pale! What's wrong?" Pansy's voice rang in his ears.

"Nothing you would be interested in. Go hang out with Theo," Draco said, trying to shove Pansy away.

"Why would I want to hang out with him?"

Across the table, Draco saw Theo's hurt look. He knew how he felt.

"Pansy, I'm serious. Go hang out with Theo. He looks as bad as me."

"No," Pansy replied stubbornly.

Theo sent Draco an apologetic look and mouthed 'thanks' before he continued to eat.

Pansy tried to wrap her arms around Draco, but he shoved her off.

"Pansy, go."

With a huff, Pansy stormed out of the Great Hall.

"Draco, mate, it's either you tell me what's bothering you, or I force you to eat. I'm not leaving until you pick," Blaise said firmly.

Draco sighed and decided to go with the first option.

"I'll tell you. But not here."

Blaise nodded and practically dragged Draco out of the Great Hall, causing multiple students to stare. Before he left, however, he caught a glimpse of a pair of emerald green eyes staring at him. Harry looked hurt seeing Draco as weak as he was. Draco hated seeing Harry hurt. Especially because of him. It made his heart ache.

Blaise dragged him to the Slytherin Common Room. He knew no one would be there, since they had already gone to their classes.

"We're going to be late," Draco muttered.

"Doesn't matter. All that matters is that you tell me what's going on," Blaise said, placing a hand on Draco's shoulder, turning him around to face him.

"I also have a tutoring session with Longbottom."

"Draco..."

Draco let out a breath he didn't know he was holding.

"Y-yesterday, Snape threatened me. He said that he-he knew about me and Harry and that if I didn't break up w-with him, then he would tell my father. He also s-said that I was trying to lure Harry into Voldemort's hands. Why does everyone hate me for being w-who I am?" Draco choked on his words as sobs began to form in his throat. Blaise pulled him in for a long brotherly hug. Draco sobbed into his shoulder.

"Mate, what Snape is doing is wrong. But your father has his own expectations of you. Did Snape say anything else?"

"He said that my father said that I have to come home for the Christams holidays. I don't want to, Blaise. I don't want to do any of this!" Draco let out another sob.

"Then don't."

"I can't. Or he'll put the Imperius curse on me. Or maybe the Cruciatus. (at least that's how I think it sounds like. Pls tell me if I'm wrong and tell me the right way) He's done it before too."

"Draco, we need to sort this out. It's urgent. But now isn't a good time. We'll be late for Potions and we're standing here talking about Snape," Blaise said.

Draco nodded, slowly pulling away from him.

They walked in silence to Potions. Neither one of them bothered to pick up the pace.
