"You're good with him, Sabrina," Steve said as they left the meeting room. She smiled softly. "Thanks," she said. "You're both a bunch of hypocrites though," she said with a laugh as they waited for the elevator. Tony rolled his eyes. "Yeah yeah, whatever," he said. Sabrina glanced around. "Where did Bucky go?" She asked. "He's gone to do some tests with Bruce," Steve said. Sabrina nodded as they stepped into the elevator. "You'll have to start training with him Steve," Tony said as he pushed the button for the kitchen. "He's going on a mission?" Sabrina asked as she leaned over and pressed the button for her floor. Steve looked at Tony, who shrugged. "Maybe. He knows the Winter Soldiers better than anyone." "You don't think it would trigger him?" Sabrina asked as the elevator began to rise. "Who knows. It's only a thought. But I am serious about the training," he said, pointing to Steve, who nodded. The elevator door slid open and Tony and Steve stepped out. "Thank you for that, Sabrina," Tony said. Sabrina nodded. "No problem," she said as the door slid shut. She smiled softly to herself as the elevator rose again.
That night, Sabrina lay in bed. She kept tossing and turning. She hadn't been sleeping too good recently. She walked over and sat on her window seat. She pulled a blanket over her legs and rested her head against the cool glass. She looked onto the street below. It was empty, apart from the random car or person. She yawned and fell asleep. Bucky stood at the door of Sabrina's room, which she always left a crack open. He couldn't sleep either. He gently pushed it open and looked in. She wasn't in her bed. He frowned and slowly walked inside. He spotted her at the window and sighed a small sigh of relief. He walked over and looked at her. She was so peaceful when she slept. He picked her up gently and lifted her onto her bed. He lay her down on it and lay the blanket over her. He stared at her for a long time before he bent down and kissed her cheek. She had done it to him earlier, and he had liked it. Bucky sighed and stood up. He walked out and back to his room. He stared at the photo of the Avengers which he had taped to his wall. He stared at them all, studying their faces intensely. He felt that he knew them all, but he was worried that he would forget about them, like he forgot about Steve.
The next morning Sabrina woke up. She looked around. "I swear I fell asleep at the window," she muttered to herself as she stood up and went to the bathroom. She washed her face and brushed her teeth before she headed towards the elevator. When it opened, she saw Bucky standing there, staring at the buttons. Sabrina smiled and went to press the button for the kitchen, when she noticed that they were all pressed. She laughed softly and looked at Bucky. "It takes a while to get used to," she said with a smile. "FRIDAY, take us to the kitchen please," she called. The elevator started moving down. "Who's FRIDAY?" Bucky asked. Sabrina smiled. "It's kind of like a personal assistant who's in control of all the house," Sabrina said, not sure how to explain. Bucky nodded and looked around the elevator.
Suddenly, the elevator started going up. Bucky looked up and Sabrina could sense him tensing up. "Wanda..." she muttered under her breath. "It's ok Bucky. Wanda's just controlling it with her mind," Sabrina said, gently touching Bucky's arm. He flinched back and Sabrina's hand shot back to her side. "Sorry," Sabrina said, looking down at the ground, as the door of the elevator slid open. Wanda was there, smiling. Sabrina glared at her. Wanda kissed her on the cheek. "It's my favourite two lovebirds," she said with a laugh as she stood in between Bucky and Sabrina. Bucky frowned in confusion, but didn't say anything. Sabrina just stared straight ahead, wishing the elevator could go faster. It suddenly sped up. Wanda had obviously read her mind. Bucky grasped the railing tight. "Wanda!" Sabrina whisper-shouted. Wanda laughed as the elevator came to a stop. The three of them walked out of the elevator and went their separate ways. Sabrina avoided Bucky's gaze as she grabbed a carton of yoghurt from the fridge. She walked into the sitting room and saw Nat and Steve staring into each others' eyes. "I think I'm interrupting something. A staring contest maybe?" She said, sitting next to Nat, who glared at her. She laughed and messed up Nat's hair before she stood up to leave. She peered into the meeting room and saw Tony and Bruce talking. They looked very serious. She sighed and walked out to the balcony. She sat down on the couch and ate her yoghurt as she looked at the New York skyline, that was so familiar to her but it seemed to change everyday.
After a while, she stood up and walked back inside. She took the elevator up to her room and began to put away some clothes of hers that she had sent to be cleaned. As she turned around to put some in her closet, she saw Bucky standing in the doorway. She jumped. "Hi," she said, looking up at him. He stood awkwardly. "You can come in," she said with a smile. He nodded and walked in, sitting on her bed. She tilted her head and sat next to him. "What's u-" "I'm sorry for scaring you earlier," he said. Sabrina smiled and shook her head. "Don't worry about it. I've seen worse," she said with a soft laugh. Bucky looked into her eyes. When he looked at Sabrina, he felt something that he had never felt for anyone before. It was love, but he didn't quite know it yet. Sabrina smiled and rested her head against his shoulder. She felt the same way, but she had barely known him 2 weeks. It was too soon to tell him she loved him. It would scare him off, she thought. Bucky looked down at her and slowly wrapped his metal arms around her. She smiled and relaxed, taking in his musky scent. They sat there for a while when they were interrupted by FRIDAY's voice. "All Avengers to the meeting room now," it said. Bucky jumped slightly. Sabrina stood up slowly and looked at him. "That means you," she said with a smile. Bucky smiled weakly and stood up. He took her hand and they walked down the stairs towards the meeting room.
When they reached it, Sabrina let go of Bucky's hand. He looked at her in confusion. "I'm not an Avenger," she said softly. Bucky nodded and walked into the meeting room. He kept his eyes low but looked for Steve, who he sat next to. Sabrina sighed softly and walked to the elevator. She went up to her room and took out her laptop. Tony had given her the task of making a social media for all of the Avengers. Not only were there a lot of Avengers, but she had to keep on top of all of their accounts. She sighed and began scrolling through comments, DMs, emails and mentions. She would respond to some of them with what she thought the Avenger who it concerned would say, but she couldn't respond to them all. She sighed as she watched their followers go up and up. Sabrina had never been allowed have any followers that Tony didn't approve of. She had a random username, that had no relation to her or the Stark name whatsoever, and she had 3 followers (Nat, Wanda and Tony's backup accounts that also had no relation to them). Because of this, she never used social media much, if at all. She wished she could though. It would make her feel somewhat normal. But normal was never going to be something Sabrina Stark had.
