Sam's P.O.V:

I was on the call when Aditi, my second sister, barged into my office. "Sam, is it true you didn't have lunch cause of some incident this morning?" She asked looking down at the bags in her hands.

"Excuse me for a minute." I said and put the call on hold. She looked at me on hearing that.

She was about to say something but, I stopped her. "I'm on a call. We'll talk after that." She nodded and took a seat on the couch.

I got back on the call. After hanging up I looked at my sister with annoyance. "Addu! (That's her nickname) You can't just barge in like that. What if I was in a meeting? " I asked.

"I knew you weren't. I checked with Ruby before coming in. Now, answer my question. Is it true?" She asked raising her eyebrow.

"No. I didn't have an appetite." I said, going and sitting beside her. Indeed, I didn't have an appetite but, it's also because of this morning. I still can't forget Ethan's defeated look for some reason.

"You know you can lie to everyone but me. I know you skip meals when something bothers you. Now, I need the real reason." She's true. I might be able to fool others, not her. We can't lie to each other.

"No. Seriously, I wasn't feeling like eating anything." I still half lied.

"Something tells me you are lying cause you can't talk about the reasons." She said, thinking. "I'm going to let it slide if you eat something now." I did not notice she brought food with her. She placed the food in front of me.

"Fine." I agreed. It's better than answering her questions. She brought a chicken sandwich, nuggets, and a salad.

"What about you?" I asked her taking a bite from the sandwich.

"I already had my lunch." She said handing me coke. I remembered about plans for tonight. "Are you free tonight? We are going to the club. Also a sleepover."

"Sure. Text me the time and I'll pick all of you from your house." I nodded as an answer. It's always us six who go to the club. She doesn't drink much, just one or two drinks, so she's always on the duty of driving us. We gather at my place and she drives us from there. While eating, we talked about what was going on in each other's life.

We are sisters and also best friends. We talk about our issues, share views and advice, help each other. I'm a bit closer to her than our elder sister, Mira. She's eldest so, she has the responsibility to look after us and that's one of the reasons why we aren't close. But that doesn't mean I don't love her. I love both my sisters equally. They took care of me after our mother's death.

Noah, Mira's husband, is also close to us. He's like a brother figure in my life. He's a single child and after his parent's death in an accident, he was kind of alone. That's when he met Mira. He fell first and she loved him as well. They got married and have a son who is 7 years old, and I love him like my own. We are a family who always sticks together. It's not easy to hold a family together but, we try our best. We dine together whenever possible. We have monthly dinners at my house as family bonding time.

After my lunch, Aditi went back to her work and I got busy with mine. By the time I was done, it was 6 PM. I quickly sent a text to Aditi telling her to be at my place by 9 PM. Others might've left already. I need to leave now to get back home and get ready. I collected my things from the desk and left the office. I saw Ruby at her desk.

"Are you done?" I asked walking towards her.

"Yes. I was about to wrap up things here." She said switching off the computer and collecting her things.
