Sam's P.O.V:
After their departure, I got back to work. Around lunchtime, Aditi came into my office looking gloomy. She plopped down on the couch, sulking. I bet the asking out didn't go well. I wrapped up my work and went to her. As soon as I sat beside her, she put her head on my shoulder, holding my hand tightly. She was looking cute but I couldn't laugh right now.
"I'm assuming the talk with Ethan didn't go well." I said. She shook her head.
"What are you planning to do? Try again or give up?" I asked her.
"I don't know." She sat straight and looked at her hands, avoiding eye contact.
"What is it?" I asked.
"He was very serious when he said no. I know I should give up, but I'm confused." She said. I couldn't see her in this state, but I can't do anything either. It's their lives and they need to sort it out.
I took her hand and gently squeezed it. "Give it some time. Everything will fall into place. You will get a clear answer." I said. She looked at me and nodded.
"Now, smile. I know you look cute when you're sulking, but I can't see you like that all day." She laughed and hugged me.
"I'm always there for you whenever you need me." I said.
"I know." She said, pulling away.
"Let's go out for lunch." I said. We both went to a restaurant nearby for lunch and talked about things while eating. She tried to be active, but I know she's still sad. I can tell she likes him a lot. She's the kind of person who takes time to get over things.
We went back to work after lunch. Even though I'm working, I couldn't stop thinking about Liam. Did I do the right thing? Was that hint enough? Was I suspicious? My mind was surrounded by all these questions.
I hope he takes my words seriously, not as some nonsense. I want to help him in anything I can but I can't offer it directly. That would raise a lot of suspicions and questions for which I don't have answers. I hope he acts before it's too late.
The next day went by productively with an inspection, meetings, etc. The papers were also prepared. All that's left is signing them.
Ruby informed them about the meeting. We would be meeting for lunch with Liam and Ethan. Meeting Ethan was hard cause of my sister, but I had to do it for business.
Thursday came and I was ready to meet Liam, again. I was kinda nervous and excited about it. Why? I don't know.
Work went smoothly in the morning and soon it was lunchtime. I left the office along with Ruby for the meeting. We'd be signing the deal and having lunch together. We reached the restaurant and found them already waiting for us.
"You guys are early." Ruby said as they both stood and greeted us.
"We decided not to be late. It isn't too early. We just came here like 5 minutes ago." Ethan said.
We all took our seats. Ruby and I sat opposite both of them. "Should we get done with the work and enjoy lunch?" I asked them.
"Sure." Liam said, talking for the first time since we came. He was looking at me, more like observing me.
Ruby gave us the papers and we both checked them before signing. The deal is sealed.
"Congratulations." I said, smiling.
"Thank you. Congratulations to you too." Liam said. We all shook hands.
"We can start working from next month. We'll have our first discussion in the first week." I said.
