Liam's P.O.V:
It was weekend which I'm spending sorting things in our new house. The van-line people moved all the things and got them sorted yesterday. All that's left was to unpack our clothes, books, and stuff.
I decided on this move as a fresh start. It was hard for me to go to the mansion every day and not remember the horrible things that happened. I hope it would be a good change for Jake too. This might be what we both needed for our healing.
It was 11.00 AM and I've got no idea about Samaira. I don't even know if she's coming or not. When she asked me that day, I was confused why she would offer her help. I didn't know how to take it and also thought if she has an ulterior motive behind this.
I accepted it for two things. Firstly, I thought it might help me to know her personality. She's still a mystery to me. And, the second reason was Jake. He liked her company more than I would like to admit. When he met her, I saw him smile more than I've seen him do for the past few months. I need to be sure she's a good person to let her be around him. That's why I'm here, in the living room, kind of waiting for her.
I texted her the address last night even though I wasn't in the mood. Since my ex-wife's visit yesterday to my office, I was in a sour mood. I snapped at people for no reason. I acted like an asshole and I regretted it too but nothing calmed me. I hope Sam doesn't do anything to drop my mood.
I was sorting books in the boxes and Jake was just sitting across me, probably bored, when the doorbell went off. I went and opened it to find a box infront of me. Box? A person was holding it, covering their face.
"¡Hola!" (means Hello in Spanish) Said the voice on the other side of the box. I didn't need to see the face to know who it was. She looked from the side and smiled, a smile that could make you feel content. All my crankiness went out of the window or rather say the door, the moment I saw that smile.
"Good morning." She said uncovering her face. Whatever trance I was in, I got out of it.
"Morning. Please, Come in." I moved out of the way to let her in and close the door.
Suddenly, I was in a better mood. The moment she walked inside, Jake came, more like ran towards us. Sam walked inside and put the box at her feet. She crouched infront of Jake as he was looking at her with a hint of excitement.
One thing I observed was Sam is the kind of person who has the positivity to her, the one that makes you feel comfortable and happy.
"Hello, Jake." Sam raised her hand slowly infront of Jake. It was not like the one for a handshake. It was like asking permission.
She was asking his consent to hold his hand. He slowly put his hand in her and whispered a small hello. She held his hand tightly and ruffled his hair. Jake seemed to be not bothered by it. It was genuine happiness that I saw in him.
I thought about her actions for a while and when I got it, I widened my eyes with shock and surprise. she's trying to make him comfortable with her touch so he won't have any issues when they might get in contact again. I don't even know how she could read him like that. This woman is something else.
Smiling at him, She fixed his hair and let go of his hand. She stood up, holding the box again. I didn't get a chance to ask about it.
"I hope I'm not late to help with things." She said looking at me.
"No. Not at all. Well, there's nothing much to do." I said glancing between her and the box. She must've sensed my curiosity as she answered my burning question.
"This is a housewarming gift from me. It has fresh and organic fruits. A friend of mine sent them to me this morning. I thought it would be a better gift since I didn't get time to prepare anything else. I hope it's enough of a gift to wish you good luck with this move." She said looking nervous.
