Liam's P.O.V:

After that day, things were never the same. It's been two months since I met Sam and there's never a dull moment with her. She became a friend I never knew I needed. Never does she says no when it comes to Jake. She'd do anything for him. She cares for him a lot and helped him open up. He has been more active than before.

As for me, well, I feel comfortable around her. I've never seen a woman so compassionate as her. She, truly, is one of a kind woman.

After our first meeting at my house, we, as in Sam, Jake, and I started spending more time together, mostly on weekends. It has become our routine that we spend Saturdays' at one of our houses, doing different things like cooking, binge-watching, etc. But, on Sundays', she goes missing till evening. No calls, no messages. Once, I asked her what she does on that day and her reaction came as a surprise. she panicked. She said she can't tell about it now, which confused me. But I dropped it since I've never seen her in such a stressed state.

As for the work, our company got to a better state. We've found out the people who were messing things up and fired them. Also, we got new partnerships and deals. Overall, things got better for us.

But, as they say, nothing lasts forever. Disasters happen and the one in my life came in the way of my ex-wife.

It was Friday afternoon and I was working when I heard a commotion outside my office. Soon, she barged into my office with Lily trailing behind, probably trying to stop her.

"We need to talk." Said my ex-wife, Stella Rogers. She was seething, probably due to what I did this morning. I sighed, knowing I can't ignore or postpone this. Thankfully, I didn't have any meetings for the day.

"Sir, I tried to stop her, but she..." Lily started explaining, but I raised my hand to stop her, knowing very well who was at the fault. I dismissed Lily so I could get over with this "Talk" with Stella.

"Why?" Stella asked standing infront of my desk. It was one word but was enough for me to understand what she's talking about. I wish I could ignore this, but that will prolong our talk more, which I don't want to.

"It had to be done someday. I should've done it sooner as the solution." I said getting up from my seat to put more distance between us. I couldn't stand being anywhere near her.

"So, you're saying, revoking my cards was a solution to your problem." Stella said crossing her arms. She probably wants to yell at me but she's trying not to lose her cool, which I know won't work for long.

"I'm saying, I should've cut off my ties with you right after our divorce so we wouldn't have been here now." I said observing her. She still looks the same as when I met her in college, a bit mature. But, I know her true face behind the beauty. My feelings for her changed drastically and all I feel for her are negative emotions.

"We had a deal." She yelled. I sighed, tired of her antics.

"An agreement, which wasn't required at all." I reasoned with her. She looked at me for a proper minute, before speaking.

"You've changed a lot. When did this happened?" She paused. "Wait! let me guess, right after meeting that damn woman! What was her name again?" That did the trick for her if she was trying to get me riled up. It was me who's on the verge of lashing now. I took a deep breath to calm myself.

"Sam has nothing to do with this." I said in a flat tone.

"Wow. Sam? Already on a nickname basis. I didn't know things had gone as far as to defend her." She said with a sinister smile.

"Our agreement ends today. I don't want to have anything to do with you." I said going towards the floor-to-ceiling window which shows the city hustle.
