The Party
Kathryn's pov
I stand with Alex on the edge of the dance floor as celebrities walk by us.
"Was that Meryl Streep who just walked by us?" I ask excitedly. Alex just shrugs indifferently.
"Ok don't scream but Chris Wood definitely just walked by and he definitely smiled at me" I say getting slightly breathless that a god just smiled at me
"Ooh fangirl in the room" Alex mocks me over my slight obsession with Chris Wood
"You're just jealous Aaron Taylor-Johnson didn't look your way" I hit back
"Yeah sure" Alex replies bitterly and crosses her arms with a huff
"So how are you enjoying the party?" I ask her with a teasing smile, she playfully glares at me.
"I hate these types of parties, I just hate socialites with all their nice tailored suits and dresses and all their fancy champagne and fancy foods" Alex groans, I send her a look
"You sound kind of jealous" I tease her, she rolls her eyes
"Also, since we're wearing tailored dresses and are drinking champagne and are indulging in their fancy foods doesn't that make us socialites" I add with a smirk, Alex looks at me with wide eyes.
"Oh god, I'm becoming everything I hate" She exclaims a few people look our way, I wave at them awkwardly
"Don't act like you don't enjoy it just a little bit" I hit back, Alex gives me a look but doesn't answer
"Come on just admit that you like it" I say
"Shut up" She bluntly replies
"I'm gonna go and check on Logan and Romeo in the playroom, I'll see you around Kath" Alex says and leaves
"And now I'm all alone, this is really sad" I say to myself, a couple of people come up to me and tell me how happy Adam seems ever since I came into his life and all the other typical bullshit. I go to head over to Mackenzie and Jacob at the refreshments bar but stop when I notice Adam walking over to me with someone following closely behind.
"Kathryn, glad I finally found you again, I brought someone to meet you this is..." He begins but I cut him off.
"Drayton Hayes I know who he is I'm not an idiot Adam" I say with a sweet smile at him
"Oh have you two already met before or something?" Adam asks with furrowed brows
"No but I watch movies and tv shows especially The Diamond Thief" I deadpan Adam rolls his eyes at me whilst Drayton chuckles
"Wow Adam I know you said she was feisty but she's like a proper firecracker" Drayton says with a smirk to his friend
"Well this has ruined my entire plan of introducing the both of you" Adam says sarcastically
"Well since I'm such a good girlfriend, I'm willing to act like I don't know him just for you" I reply with a loving smile
"And since I'm a good friend, I'm willing to do the same" Drayton adds
"How would I ever live without you two" Adam says sarcastically
"You'd probably fall into a spiral of depression and become an alcoholic" I joke, Adam shakes his head but cracks a smile
"Alright come on Kathryn let's do this" I psyche myself up then stare at Drayton with a small smile
"So Adam, are you going to introduce me to your friend?" I ask him, Adam rolls his eyes but plays along.
