The Centurion walked out of the castle and sighed. He had been sure he would be discovered. The way the king had looked at him he thought for sure he knew he was a spy. Maybe he wanted him to hear that thing though.
The part where Polislam was going to be under attack. Of course it was always under attack... every one knew that... but not like this... this was different.
This was all out war and if Polislam was destroyed... well... that was bad news for the rest of the world. Especially HIS world. He sighed and walked over to the stables, going to grab his horse.
Yes... he was a spy... but he tried not to think of himself as a bad person. He tried to be kind to everyone. He wasn't an assassin and he wouldn't stoop to that level for anyone.
He reported only to one man and he was one of the most thoughtful and kind men the 'Centurion' had ever met. As soon as he had met him, the Centurion had promised himself he would help him no matter what.
Except to kill. He had standards for his work. He liked to think of himself as a deliver-er of truths. He went to his horse and saw that it was saddled as he had asked.
"Where you going to sir?" The stable master asked, a kind man that was just asking out of curiosity... but curiosity killed the spy.
"Home," The Centurion said, not wanting to spare any details. The stable master, sensing this, stepped back and smiled, bowing.
The spy smiled. In a life of bowing to everyone, it always made him happy to see servants bow to him.
They didn't bow because they needed to... they did out of kindness. The people of Polislam were the most kind that he had ever met... and knew he would never meet anyone more kind... Except maybe the person he had sworn alliance to... Prince Kay of Dendritic.
