Skill had not been a big help when I was trying to find a room. She had smiled at me wickedly, her grey eyes sparking like a thunderstorm.
"A room in the castle? Well... I think that it can be arranged for you to have a room near Bravery!" She had said, and sprinted off. I had tried to follow her, but it seemed that the events of the day had tired me out.
I wasn't used to going on adventures through different lands. It all seemed a little too much. As it was, I was following where Skill had run in the direction of. As soon as I entered the castle I stopped in awe of the giant building. The throne room was huge, and was by far more beautiful than any room within Dendritic.
Pillars lines the way to a beautiful throne. King Falton must look rather regal when a newcomer came into the room.
Of course, he probably ruined it as soon as he opened his mouth. Tearon was many things, but he was not regal.
I turned and walked towards a huge door that was open a crack. As I walked into the hallway behind the door, I saw that there was a servant waiting for me, and Skill hiding behind a giant staircase.
I frowned at her and she grinned wickedly at me and pointed at the servant. I glared at her for a second and then walked toward the servant who was standing still.
When I got closer the servant took a step forward.
"Hello sir, I'm here to take you to your room," the servant said, a smile starting to come to their face. I frowned at them, considering what that meant.
"Let me guess. This room is next to a certain girl?" I asked and the servant looked at the ground, their face becoming red. I nodded to myself as the answer was made clear for me.
"Well...take me there then," I said, resigning myself to my fate... not that I could complain at all. It would be nice to have a room next to Bravery. She would probably feel the same. I felt like she didn't like talking to new people.
Or anyone... except me... and even then, there were certain times where it seemed that Bravery was about to cut off my head because she was so annoyed at me.
The servant turned and walked towards the spiral staircase. When I looked for Skill, I saw that she was gone. I looked up the staircase to see that the servant was waiting for me.
I nodded and waved them on, and started up the stairs after them. For a place that seemed to take their military very seriously, these people had a beautiful castle. The stairs had a railing that was carved into graceful spirals.
However, I could tell that this would be a fortress if ever someone wanted to attack this place. Three walls to keep out intruders?
The plan was ingenious! It would take a very large army to get through all of that... and skilled warriors as well.
As we went by a window I looked out and saw that it had started to rain.
"Does it rain here often?" I asked my guide and he turned back to me with a frown.
"It doesn't rain here as often as the places near the rainforest, but I would suppose that it rains more here than it does in Dendritic," The servant said contemplating his words carefully.
"How do you know that I am from Dendritic?" I asked the servant and he looked at me with a bemused expression.
"Information travels fast here... and you came here a day ago. Everyone in the castle knows by now who you are and what you are doing here," The servant said and I shook my head, smiling at him.
No doubt that by the end of the day the whole castle would believe that Bravery and I were dating.
My face went a little red at the thought.
